Sharon Ann Mynes, 57, of Hurricane, WV, formerly of Sod, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, after a short illness at CAMC Teays Valley in Hurricane.
Per her request, she will be cremated and there will be no services.

Bonnie Satterfield, 80, of Griffithsville, WV, went home Monday, February 11, 2019, at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie; son Kenneth Ray Satterfield, grandson Donald Eugene Baker III, parents Earl and Ethel Marie Coates Dent, sister Betty Waldron and brother Billy Ray Dent.
Bonnie was a member of the Yawkey Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Geneva Bell of Griffithsville, Debbie Satterfield of Little River, SC, and Sylvia (Donald) Baker of Hamlin, son Jerry (Kim) Satterfield of Griffithsville, sister Barbara Graham, granddaughters BreAnn, Stacy and Kacey, grandsons Justin and Jacob, and eight great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, with Pastors Butch Loftis and Jimmy Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens in Yawkey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Alice Marie Holstein, 81, of South Charleston, WV, went home after a long battle with cancer Thursday, February 7, 2019.
Mom loved to cook and if you left her house hungry it was your own fault.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Edward, sons Davey (Kathy) Wilson, John Samuel Wilson III, Robert (Kelli) Wilson and Shane (Virginia) Wilson, brothers Walter Monroe, Scooter and James McGhee, and sister Judy McGhee, ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, with Pastor Charles Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Holstein Cemetery, Dartmont.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Madora Joan Mitchell, 78 of Yawkey, left her home Thursday, February 7, 2019, to be with the Lord after battling Alzheimer’s disease for 12 years. She was a member of Danville Church of Christ and has been a faithful Christian since January 6, 1966. Joan was a virtuous woman who was of great value to her family, to her church, and to her community. She was a student of The Word and a great teacher and speaker.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Kermit and Helen Stickler. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Kenneth, sons, Mark (Kelley) of Yawkey, John (Cheryl) of Sparta, NC and Matthew of Yawkey. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday February 10, 2019 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with her husband and three sons officiating. Burial will follow in Hayzlett Cemetery, Garretts Bend.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Victor Gay Clark, 90, of Alkol, WV, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 26, 2019. Victor was a retired coal miner from Hobet Mining. He was a member of the Left Fork Baptist Church and has been a child of God for over 41 years.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Next to God, he loved his family (and cutting wood) more than anything.
Victor was born on August 16, 1928, to the late Tom and Mattie Clark. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Opal (Vickers) Clark, brothers Johnny, Mason, Cline and Dennis Clark, daughter-in-law Judy Clark, and great grand-daughter Abigayle Fleshman.
He is survived by his sons Rocky (Glenda) Clark and Tony (Wilma) Clark both of Alkol and daughter Shirley (Bob) Connolly of Turtle Creek, grandchildren Carol Lee Miller, Wendy Perschau, Dody (Nathan) Bragg and Wendy (Joey) Boardman all of Alkol, Clint (Sheila) Clark of Julian, Angela (Brent) Fleshman of Culloden, Amanda Clark of Saint Albans, Jordan (Laura) Clark of South Charleston, great-grandchildren Kyle, Katie, Danielle, Blake, Ethan, Emma, Joseph, Brielle, Dylann, Avery, Gracen, and Trinity Ruby’s arrival expected in April. Victor also leaves behind brothers Corvan (Virginia) Clark of Ohio and Irvin (Betty) Clark of Foster, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Left Fork Baptist Church in Alkol with Pastor Randell Kinder officiating. Burial will follow at the Clark Family Cemetery in Alkol.

Harold Lee Runyon, 86, of Sod, WV, went home to the Lord Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the Hubbard House Hospice West in South Charleston.
Harold served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. Harold retired from Royal Oldsmobile in South Charleston and loved to hunt, fish and farm.
He was predeceased by his grandparents James Blaine and Esta Griffith, parents Bill and Verna Runyon, and brother Billy Runyon.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Gloria Lee, daughter Robin (Chilton) Harbert, son Lee (Wanda Tribbie), sisters Phyllis Neeley and Dottie (Fred) Snodgrass, brothers J. B. (Linda), Kenneth (Sherry), Gail Wayne (Joan), Lewis (Connie) and Johnnie (Debbie) Runyon, grandson Brock (Jamie) Justice and great-grandson James Justice.
Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, WV, with Pastor Clyde Gwin officiating. Military Honors will be conducted following the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lively Cemetery, Sod, WV.

Michael Anthony Blake, 53, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 13, 2019. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Blake and father, Edward Blake, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Blake, mother, Irene Blake, brother, Ed Jr., and granddaughter, Sophia Blake.
Michael was owner of Blake’s Electric in Calhoun, GA.

Patrick Chandler Jr., 80, of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at CAMC – Memorial, Charleston, WV.
Patrick was a member of Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church and attended Central United Methodist Church on Bigley Avenue in his youth. He was a 1956 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and served his country in the Air National Guard, where he helped maintain the aircraft. He was retired from C & P Telephone with over 32 years of service as an installer and repairman and also worked at McClung and Morgan Department Store. He was a member of Griffithsville Masonic Lodge #71 and the Scottish Rite, Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana McCallister Chandler and his parents, Pat Chandler and Sally Conner Chandler Moore.
He is survived by his daughter, Marsha Loraine Chandler, many cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastors Frank Chapman and Daniel Dent officiating. Family & friends will gather one hour prior to the service.

Nevada L. Ruby, 84, of Sumerco, WV, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 6, 2019, at home.
She was a 1952 graduate of Duval High School and a longtime member of McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church.
Nevada was preceded in death by her husband Samuel J. Ruby, son Steven J. Ruby, mother Earmel Smith, and sister Joyce Wheeler.
She is survived by sons Sam Ruby and Annie of Alum Creek and Greg Ruby and Kari of Redhouse, grandchildren Dustin, Zack, Blake, Abigail and Noah, sisters Joan Allen and JoAnn McCormick, and first cousin raised like a brother Glen Smith.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, at the McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Roe Smith and Isaiah Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Hazel Mabel Hughes, 95, of Alum Creek, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019. Hazel was born January 13, 1923 to the late John and Jane Parsons Schivelier.
She was a homemaker and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Sumerco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Denver Hughes, Sr., brother, William Schivelier, sisters, Ocie, Sophia Hensley, Pheobie Armstrong & Macel Roberts.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Denver (Donna), Jackie (Rita) & Arlen (Cheryl) Hughes, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1:00pm Monday, January 7, 2019, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, WV, with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sumerco. Friends & family will gather one hour prior to the service.
