Margie A. Lilly, 70 of South Charleston, died Friday, March 30, 2001 in Thomas Memorial Hospital South Charleston, after a long illness.

She was a retired employee of the State of West Virginia.

She is survived by her: 3 Sons: Norwin of South Charleston, WV; Terry of South Charleston, WV; Deitz of Lynchburg, VA; 1 Daughter: Dreama Smith of South Charleston, WV; 1 Sister: Virginia Peters of Alum Creek, WV; 6 Grandchildren: Amy ,Brent, Brandon, Jason, Megan and Morgan; 4 Step Grandchildren: two in Lynchburg, VA Christy & Stephanie; 5 Step Great Grandchildren.

Services will be at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, April 2, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lloyd Humphreys officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, April 1, 2001 at the funeral home.

She was a member of Open Door Apostolic Church, Chazleston, and a housewife.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

William Delano Chandler

William Delano Chandler, 61 of Alum Creek, formerly of Port Orange and Melbourne, Florida, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at Thomas Memorial Hospital Emergency Room after an apparent heart attack.

He was retired from Florida Power and Light and was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM #318 Melbourne Florida. He also was a member of the Air National Guard.

He is survived by his: Wife: Kaye Chandler; 2 Brothers: Carl Chandler of Alum Creek, WV; Douglas Lowell Chandler of Port Orange, FL; 2 Sisters: Carnell Smith of Oak Hill, OH; Ruth Vickers of Peterstown WV;

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Cyphers officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, with masonic graveside rites conducted by Griffithsville Lodge # 71. William “Bill” Cox

William “Bill” Cox, 81, of St. Albans died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. He was born March 22, 1920 in Van Lear, Kentucky to William and Lena Cox.

Mr. Cox was a self employed contractor for 30 years. He retired from the Kanawha County School Board in 1971. He was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans where he has served on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Cox served in the 6~’ Armored Division during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 73 in St. Albans.

He is survived by his: Wife: Ruth; 3 Daughters: Cathy Dubois of Conyers, GA; Connie Campbell of St. Albans, WV; Aaron Adele Pendry of St. Albans, WV; 1 Brother: George Cox of Tucson, AZ; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; Several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at Highlawn Baptist Church. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, June 30, at 11:00 AM at Highlawn Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Joe Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highlawn Baptist Church, 2304 Jefferson Avenue, St. Albans, West Virginia 25177. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements.

He was a 1962 graduate of Duval High School, Griffithsville, a former heavy equipment operator for Southern Appalachian Coal and a member of McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church.

Dortha Faye Griffith Hasen, 66 of Alkol, died Monday, March 19, 2001 at CAMC Memorial Division after a short illness.

She was a Christian and a life long resident of Alkol.

She is survived by her: Son and Daughter-in-Law: Mark and Rose Hasen of Alkol, WV; Mother: Lena Griffith of Alkol, VW; Grandson: Neil Hasen; Granddaughter: Krystle Hasen.
