Lou Ellen McClure, 87, of Yawkey went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

Lou was a homemaker and a member of Yawkey Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McClure.

Lou is survived by her daughters, Bridget (Eugene “Chip”) Chipps and Patricia Vickers (fiancé, Mark Nelson); grandchildren, Natalie (Jessie) Williams, Aaron Chipps, Emily & Jonathan Vickers; great granddaughter, Marissa Williams; siblings, Roger (Brenda) Satterfield, Jimmy Satterfield, Betty Prine, Terry Satterfield, and Sandy (John) Vineyard.

Service will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jerry & Kim Satterfield for their loving care of mom these latter years.

Bridgett and Patricia, Carl and I loved your mother. She was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. Lou was a shining light for several people. She was kind to everyone. We were so blessed to have known this special lady.

Bridgett and Patricia, Carl and I love your sweet mother so much. She was beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Lou loved her God and her family. She was a light to so many. We are so blessed to have known this amazing lady. May God comfort all of her family in the days to come.
