Wilma Jean Wade, 72, of Yawkey, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 29, 2024, at home after a courageous battle with Parkinsons.
She was a member of Joes Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church and was a beautician for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Margaret Sowards Newcomer; sister, Phyllis Linville.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Freeman Wade; daughters, Mitzi (Jerry) Chadwick and Jessica (Frank) Jarrell; brothers, Earl Newcomer, John (Sandy) Rose, and Terry Newcomer; sister, Penny Young; grandchildren, Jedidiah Davis, Jasmine Davis, Jewelia Jarrell, Malachi Jarrell, Alixzandria Jarrell, and Joy Jarrell.
Service will be 2:00pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Andy Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
