Barbara Maxine Ferrell, 86, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Ferrell, son, Russell “Rusty” Ferrell, and parents, Semore & Lillie Yeager Adkins. She was the last surviving of seven children.
Barbara retired as a Teacher Certification Analyst with 27 years of service from Marshall University and was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Ceredo, WV.
She is survived by her sons, Ed (Georgetta) Ferrell and Mike Ferrell, grandchildren, Chris Ferrell, Becca (Justin) Musarra and Calysta (Brandon) Burress. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Audrey Musarra, Gwen Musarra, Scarlet Musarra, Marlo Burress and Oliver Burress, special nephew, Scott Ashworth, and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Graveside service will be 1:00pm Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, WV, with Pastor Jason Price officiating.

Hello to Barb’s family. I worked with Barb for 20 years in Jenkins Hall, College of Education. She was one of the nicest coworkers I ever had. So many students relied on her to work out their education future. They would sit in our inner hallway for their turn to see her. She was responsible for an endless number of public school teachers. She was a great friend to work with.
