Louise Smith, 71, of South Charleston died Friday, August 27, 1999 at a personal care home in South Charleston after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and she formerly attended Spring Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her: 1 Son: Gary Smith of Bridgeport, WV; 2 Brothers: Leon Justice of South Charleston, WV; Noble Justice of South Charleston, WV; 2 Sisters: Dee Hartwell of South Charleston, WV; Thelma Stotler of Anstead, WV; 2 Grandchildren: Patrick & Callie.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, August 29, 1999 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dennis Barnhart officiating. Burial will be held in Tudor Cemetery, South Charleston. Friends may call on Saturday, August 28, 1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

She was a Christian.

She is survived by her: 1 Daughter: Mary Maroney of Orlando, FL; 5 Sons: Robert Lowery of Alum Creek, WV; James Lowery of Alum Creek, WV; Clarence “Pug” Lowery of Little River, SC; Melvin Lowery of Las Vegas, NV; Jerry Lowery of West Palm Beach, FL; Step-Daughter: Patsy Bays of Charleston, WV; 18 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren; 21 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, August 28, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call on Friday, August 27, 1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Ruth Childress Kinder, 86, of Alum Creek died Monday, August 23, 1999 at home.

She was retired from the West Virginia State Health Department, was a member of the first graduating class of Washington District High School in 1933, was a charter member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church, South Charleston, a member of the Dunbar Eastern Star Chapter 133 and was a life long resident of Kanawha county.

She is survived by her: 1 Son: Delmar Joe Kinder of Columbus, OH; 2 Daughters: Francis Marie Kinder at home; Charlotte Robbins of Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: Dr. Ross Childress of South Charleston, WV; 1 Sister: Jean Boone of Toledo, OH; 4 Grandchildren: Joni Zwick, Troy Mynes, Jeni Vaught, Rebecca Mynes Robbins; 5 Great Grandchildren; Caregiver and friend: Shelbie Blankenship of Alum Creek, WV.

Services will be held at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 24,1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Bill Allen, 69, of St. Albans died Thursday, August 19, 1999 at CAMC General division after a short illness.

He was retired from Porter Properties of Charleston, was a member of Pleasant View Church of God, Hurricane and was an Army Veteran and a member of The Allen Brothers Quartet.

He is survived by his: Wife: Katie; 2 Sons: Terry Allen of St. Albans, WV; Randy Allen of St. Albans, WV; 1 Daughter: Lori Witt ofHumcane, WV; 1 Brother: Rev. Walter Allen of St. Albans, WV; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, August 23, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Walter Allen and Rev. David McCormick officiating. Burial will beheld in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek, with Military graveside rites conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. Friends may call on Sunday, August 22, 1999 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 12110, Charleston, WV 25302.

Charles H. Pauley, 75, of Alum Creek died Friday, August 13, 1999 in VA Medical Center, Huntington, after a short illness.

He was a former employee of the Kanawha County Board of Education, a member and song leader of Hopewell Baptist Church, Alum Creek, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of Alum Creek VFW Post 4768, where he served as chaplain.

He is survived by his: Wife: Phyllis Ann Pauley; 1 Daughter: Charlene Ray of Alum Creek, W V; 1 Step-son: John E. Rabel of Alum Creek, W V; 4 Sisters: Clara Griffith of South Charleston, WV; Ella Fitzwater of South Charleston, WV; Rachael Waldron of South Charleston, WV; Louise Brua of South Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: Paul Pauley of South Charleston, WV; 5 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren

Services will be held at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, August 17, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wallace York and Pastor Lloyd Humphreys officiating. Burial will be held in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768.
