Tara Lenn Graley-Riley, born on August 22, 1971, passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning on Friday, March 7, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love and kindness left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Eloise “Pede” Graley and Asa “Glen” and Mildred Adkins, as well as her cherished aunt Cheryl “Sissy” Redman and uncle Wayne “Hippy” Adkins.
Tara is survived by her loving parents, Barry (Brenda) Graley and Kay Graley, who shaped the strong and compassionate woman she became. She leaves behind her greatest joys—her children, Eric (Cierra) and Ashtyn (Brandon), who were the center of her world. She was a devoted and adoring grandmother to Liam, Demi, and Dax, with a special place in her heart for her step grandsons, Gage and Zeppelin and bonus grandson, Easton. Tara is also survived by her sister, Amanda (Maddy) Elkins, her nephew Brady Elkins, and a host of family and friends who were touched by her unwavering love and support.
Tara’s life was defined by her selflessness. Everything she did was for someone else—never missing a chance to make those around her feel special, valued, and deeply loved. She was the heartbeat of her family, showing up for every ballgame, school event, birthday party, and celebration, always cheering the loudest and loving the hardest. She found joy in giving, and her presence was a source of comfort, warmth, and unwavering support.
Her passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved her. She was a light in the darkness, a truly kind soul whose generosity and love knew no bounds. Though she is no longer physically with us, her love, her laughter, and the countless memories she created will forever live on in our hearts.
Tara’s family will honor her life in a service filled with the love she so freely gave.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. Burial will follow at Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends and family will gather 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
If you would like to, please wear your favorite band tee, in honor of Tara. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Tara’s memory by showing kindness to others—just as she always did.
Rest easy, Tara. Your love lives on in all of us.
