MAMIE HUDSON, 91, OF CHARLESTON DIED FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 1998 AT THE VALLEY HEALTH VILLAGE IN SOUTH CHARLESTON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.

SHE WAS A BAPTIST AND A HOMEMAKER AND WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND, LEVI HUDSON.

SHE IS SURVIVED BY SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

SERVICES WILL BE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, AT THE CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK WITH PASTOR GENE PAULEY OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN GRACELAND MEMORIAL PARK, SOUTH CHARLESTON. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 6 TO 8 PM ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1998.

SHE WAS A SCHOOL TEACHER BEFORE BECOMING A HOMEMAKER AND THE WIFE OF THE LATE REV. LLOYD C. PROVANCE, WHO PASTORED IN MARLINGTON, NEW MARTINSVILLE, PARKERSBURG, AND FOLLANSBEE. IN HER LATER YEARS SHE SERVED AS A COOK AT THE DAVIS CREEK NAZARENE DAY CARE AND SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE SOUTH CHARLESTON FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE.

SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER: 1 DAUGHTER: ESTHER FOWLER OF EASTLAKE, OH, 1 SON: PASTOR MERLIN PROVANCE OF SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV; 1 SISTER: GENEVA BUFFINGTON OF PARKERSBURG, WV; 3 GRANDCHILDREN; 5 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE IN SOUTH CHARLESTON ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1998 AT 7:30 PM WITH PASTOR MERLIN PROVANCE AND PASTOR MORTON ESTEP OFFICIATING. GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1998 AT THE LUBECK CEMETERY, LUBECK AT 11:00 AM.
