Ocie W. Hill, 98, of Dunbar, formerly of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Sunbridge of Dunbar after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ada Banks Turley; husband, Estel; and son, Denver. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dunbar.
She is survived by her son, Donald C. Hill of Alum Creek; daughter in law, Geraldine Hill of Dunbar; grandson, Michael Hill; two great granddaughters; six great great grandchildren; one great great great grandson; one niece and one nephew; sister in law, Nina Turley of Alum Creek.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastors Tom Stephens and Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Sunbridge of Dunbar and Kanawha Hospice for special, tender care and kindness shown to Ocie.
