Anna Smith Chandler

Anna Smith Chandler, 96, of Yawkey, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at home. She was born September 24, 1928.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Freeman Chandler, parents, Everett & Eliza Brumfield Smith, brothers, James Opal, Ronald Hershall, and Arvil, and sisters, Mary Sampson, Guynith Raper, and Myrtle Virginia Dragoo. She is also preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Harold Bennett, Richard Bowles and Lannie Kidd.

Anna is survived by her four daughters and one son, Dorean Bennett, Janet (Dwight) McClure, Melinda Bowles, Patty Kidd and Jackie Chandler. Proud Grandmother of six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.

She was a Christian and a member of Joes Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served as church clerk for many years.

Service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, WV, with Pastor Andy Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
