Anna Lou Wade

Anna Lou Wade, 89, of Yawkey went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a caregiver to all who needed her. Anna was a founding member of the Bride of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in South Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Jessie Wade; son, Phillip Wade; brothers, J.C., Marshall and Robert Adams; and sister Manoka Lynn.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Gloria (John) Soice of Cross Lanes; brother, Chester Adams; grandchildren, Steve (Alicia) Wade, Tracy Behnke, Sarah Soice and Chad Soice; great grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Kyle, Madison, Kristian, Lacy, Jaxon and Jacey; and nephew, who she raised as a son, Gordon Monday.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Powell Cemetery in Hamlin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kenneth D. “Tank” McClure, 70, of Yawkey went home Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

He was a retired member of the Pipefitters Union Local 625 and a veteran of theĀ  U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Martha; daughter, Courtney McClure; grandchildren, Hunter McClure, Jackson Tackett, Cayden McClure and Isaac Runyon; and brother, Dennis McClure.

Service with military honors will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Craig Gillenwater officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Nellie Mitchell McNealy

Our mother, Nellie, 94, of St. Albans, passed away peacefully into the hands of our Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018.

She was born December 28, 1923 on Bills Creek, Putnam County. She was the daughter of the late Reverend P. A. Mitchell and Nora Miller Mitchell.

She was a Christian and active member of Highland Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Mellon Sunday School Class. She loved doing crafts for children. She was a graduate of Hurricane High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald, her brother Arden and sister Violet.

She is survived by her daughter Faye Hudson; grandchildren, Mark ( Cathy ); Danny ( Dina ); Becky ( Ronnie ); Luke ( Mary ); and great grandchildren, all of Fairmont. daughter Donna Brown ( Rod ) of Hurricane; grandchildren Chad ( Amanda ) of Willow Park, Texas; Ryan ( Sarah ) of Hurricane; Courtney of Morgantown and great grandchildren, Michael, Brook, Carly and Luke; daughter Carol Chapman ( Michael ) of Flat Rock, NC; daughter Dee McNealy ( Sidney ) of Clarksdale, MS; and sister Phyllis Melvin ( Bill ) of Laramie, WY.

Funeral service will be 6 p.m., Friday, April 6, Highlawn Baptist Church, St. Albans, with the Reverend Rob Ely officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at Highlawn Baptist Church 2304 Jefferson Ave., St. Albans.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions are made to Highlawn Baptist Church of St. Albans.
