Anna Lou Wade

Anna Lou Wade, 89, of Yawkey went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a caregiver to all who needed her. Anna was a founding member of the Bride of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in South Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Jessie Wade; son, Phillip Wade; brothers, J.C., Marshall and Robert Adams; and sister Manoka Lynn.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Gloria (John) Soice of Cross Lanes; brother, Chester Adams; grandchildren, Steve (Alicia) Wade, Tracy Behnke, Sarah Soice and Chad Soice; great grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Kyle, Madison, Kristian, Lacy, Jaxon and Jacey; and nephew, who she raised as a son, Gordon Monday.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Powell Cemetery in Hamlin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dear neighbor and friend! Wonderful memories of her an Jesse, too many to write down here! Her and Jesse are together with Jesus! Finally at her destination, Heaven! May God give the family the strength and peace to get through these trying times!

We are sadden to hear about the passing of Aunt Anna Lou. I will never forget the summers we use to spend roaming the mountain sides at Aunt Anna Lou’s. Or the funny stories she would tell like the time the Bear got into the pool. She will be forever remembered.
