Ora Virginia Miller, 88 of South Charleston, died Saturday, November 11, 2000 at home after a long illness.

She was a retired nursing assistant at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of South Charleston.

She is survived by her: 1 Daughter: Jean Frame of South Charleston, WV; 2 Sons: Bob E. Miller of Summerville, SC; Jimmy Miller of South Charleston, WV; 2 Sisters: Betty Huston of Scott Depot, WV; Edith Craddock of Beaver, WV; 12 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Morton Estep officiating. Burial will be in Forks of Coal Memorial Park, Alum Creek. Friends may call on Monday, November 13, 2000 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Kanawha county.

Beverley Kay Thaxton, 54 of Griffithsville, died Thursday, November 9, 2000 at home after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of Eden Baptist Church, Griffithsville.

She is survived by her: Husband: Billy Thaxton; 1 Son: Timothy Thaxton of Yawkey, WV; 1 Brother: Gary Dunlap of Sod, WV; Mother and Step-Father: Marie and Al Vangundy of Griffithsville, WV; 1 Granddaughter: Kately Marie Thaxton.

Clifford “Blinky” Clendenin, 89 of Alum Creek, was found dead near Kanawha State Forest on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 after being reported missing since September 13, 2000.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers. He was a Christian and attended the Olcott House of Prayer.

He is survived by his: 5 Daughters: Reba Kuhn of Julian, WV; Susie Clendenin of Alum Creek, WV; Brenda Dunbar of St. Albans, WV; Patricia Clendenin of CA; Sheltie Clendenin of Kanawha City, WV; 7 Sons: Robert Clendenin of Sissonville, W V; James Clendenin of St. Albans, WV; Harold Clendenin of Charleston, WV; Bill Clendenin of Alum Creek, WV; Doug Clendenin of CA; Frank Clendenin of MN; Kelly Clendenin of Charleston, WV; 30 Grandchildren; and 26 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2000 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Rev. Jimmy Webb officiating. Burial will be held in the Brounland Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

He was graduate of G. W. High School, a heating and cooling service technician for Ronald Langlois in New Hampshire and was a life long resident of Kanawha county.

John “Big John” Graley, III, 44 of Sod, died Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Dicks Creek in Boone County from an ATV accident.
He was a graduate of G. W. High School, a former coal miner for AEP and a former member of UMW, was a truck driver for Dana Transport in Nitro with 8 years of service, a member of the Nitro Moose and a former baseball coach for Alum Creek Little League.
