LUTHER E. “STEVE” HICKS, 92, OF YAWKEY DIED SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 1997 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, SOUTH CHARLESTON, AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS A 50 YEAR MEMBER OF THE AF & AM GRIFFITHSVILLE LODGE 71, RETIRED OWNER OF HICKS SERVICE STATION AT YAWKEY, A MEMBER AND FORMER SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER AT THE AMY BAPTIST CHURCH AT YAWKEY AND A FORMER MEMBER OF THE LIONS CLUB.

A PRIVATE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 1997 WITH PASTOR ROBERT BUTCH LEADMAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD AT THE ORCHARD HILLS MEMORY GARDENS, YAWKEY. THERE WILL NOT BE A VISITATION. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.
