FRED SMITH, JR., 68, OF ALUM CREEK DIED FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1998 AT CAMC MEMORIAL DIVISION AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS A RETIRED PIPEFITTER FROM UNION CARBIDE WITH 32 YEARS OF SERVICE, A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF ALUM CREEK, A BAPTIST AND A KOREAN WAR ARMY VETERAN.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS: COMPANION: BEULAH LEWIS OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 1 DAUGHTER: DANA M. REED OF LOST CREEK, WV; 2 SONS: FREDERICK J. SMITH OF BURLINGTON, NC; PAUL SMITH OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 2 BROTHERS: JOSEPH SMITH OF ALUM CREEK, WV; ROGER LEE SMITH OF MASSILLON, OH; 1 SISTER: GLADYS MIDKIFF OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 4 GRANDCHILDREN AND A HOST OF RELATIVES;
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1998 AT 11:00 AM WITH PASTOR FRANK CHAPMAN AND REV. JACKIE MILLER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN FORKS OF COAL CEMETERY, ALUM CREEK. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1998 FROM 6 TO 9 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
