James Lloyd Kuhn, 84, died June 27, 2003 in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston. His family and Pastor Frank Chapman were at his side to celebrate his departure to Heaven.
Born November 27, 1918, in Charleston, Kanawha county, he was the son of the late Harvey Lesslie and Mida Ethel Smith Kuhn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hellen Pauleen Kuhn Donahue, who died in 1981.
Jim was a faithful member of Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Alum Creek where he was a devoted friend to Pastor Frank Chapman. He had retired from Valley Bell Dairy of Charleston, was a member of Loca1175 Teamsters. He worked in the shipyards at Baltimore, Maryland during WWII and also had worked for Libby Owens in Kanawha City.
Jim was the father of Larry Lee Talerico of New Orleans, LA; Roger Lloyd Kuhn of Alum Creek; Thomas Leslie Kuhn and wife Joetta of Alum Creek; and David Allen Kuhn and wife, Victoria of Alum Creek. Grandchildren: Michel Jeffrey andAlbert7osephTalerico; James Alan Kuhn and wife, Jacobi; Rhonda Gail Kuhn; and Stephen Thomas Kuhn. Great Grandchildren: Zakery James Kuhn and Kylie Anita Kuhn; and one sister, Katheryn Louvien Shivertaker of Whittier, California.
Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2003 at the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Forks of Coal Memorial Park, Alum Creek. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. Family suggest donations be made to the building fund of Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church, PO Box 65, Alum Creek, WV 25003.
