Patrick Gene Woodrum, 58, of Yawkey passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at home.

Patrick was a graduate of Duval High School and was a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dollie and Rosemary Holstein Woodrum; sister, Cynthia Huffman; and father-in-law, Joe Estep.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 33 years, Britt Estep Woodrum; son, Kirk Patrick Woodrum; sisters, Judy (David) Shubert of Texas, Kathy Daniels of Charleston, and Rebecca Boggs of North Carolina.

Patrick will be cremated and services are private.

Spence Woodrum

Spence Woodrum, 80, of Spurlocksville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hillcrest Healthcare, Danville, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Holbert & Mamie McDilda Woodrum, sons, Lee, Allen, and Harrison, and brothers, Harold, Bobby, Rexal and Elgus, and sisters, Patty and Deanie.

He worked for Department of Natural Resource for 17 years and was a member of Red Tool House Church.

Spence is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mona Harris Woodrum, children, Tommy Woodrum, Lynn (Cotis) Adkins, and Timmy Woodrum. He is also survived by sisters, Barbara Smith and Linda Harris, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Bear Branch Cemetery at Mud River, with Pastor Jerry Runion officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to offset funeral costs.

Michael G. “Mike” Mosteller, born August 29, 1954, in Charleston, WV, left his earthly home at Sod, WV, to be with his Heavenly Father and his earthly parents & brothers on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Mike was surrounded by his family and a life-long friend when he passed. His family meant the world to him.

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie; his daughters, Christi (Mike) Clendenin, Misti (John Clark) Mosteller, & Anika (Willie) McCormick; his sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Mosteller II & Dustin (Archana) Mosteller; his grandchildren, Cierra (Eric), MacKenzie (Garrett), Michael Jr. (Emily), Tanner, Kylie (Joey), Will, Hunter, Lillian, Joel, Lacey (Mike), & Skyler; his great grandchildren, Liam, Daxton, Easton, Mia, Lyanna, Emma, Isabella, Grayson, & Saphira; his brother, Donald (Patricia); his father-in-law, William Graley; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Ron) Cummings, Saundra & Sheila; his brother-in-law, Bill Graley Jr.; daughter-in-law; Raeleen; and a host of family & friends. His best friend, Casper, a huskyhuahua, lay by his side until he passed over.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Emma (Brogan) Mosteller; brothers, Rodger, Jimmie, & Billy; his sister-in-law, Sultana Kay Graley; mother-in-law, Carol Sue (Fowler) Graley; and a father figure, Halley Mitchell.

Mike had a very interesting work life. He began as a youth working on neighboring farms. His first real job was with American Viscose (Avtex). He went on to work at the following places, owning some of them; Southwestern Engineering, Boilermaker Union jobs, Mullen Plumbing & Heating, McComas Plumbing & Heating (owner), Mountaineer Property Management (owner), Team Chevrolet (salesman), Joe Holland Chevrolet (sales, management, commercial/fleet sales, special finance & co-manager of used cars), Turnpike Chevrolet (sales, commercial/fleet sales), Bert Wolfe Ford (sales), WV Truck & Trailer (manager), Freedom Homes (sales), Lincoln PSD (manager), Mountaineer Utility Services (owner).

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Duval High School and was a part of the congregation of Nitro Church of God. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Boilermaker’s Union Local 667, served as PTO president at Garrett’s Bend Elementary School for several years, coached Little League baseball, was a volunteer firefighter with West Side VFD in St. Albans, drove for an ambulance service in St. Albans, was elected Justice of the Peace for Lincoln County, was on the Alum Creek VFD Board of Directors, and was a Notary Public in WV, among a few of the accomplishments throughout his lifetime.

His life-long friend, Keith “Spider” Torman will be sending him off at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, WV, at 2:00 pm, on Friday, December 8, 2023. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 pm. Burial will be at the Mosteller/Yoder Cemetery in Tornado, WV
