Noah Calton “Cal” DeBord, 85 , of South Charleston, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 3, 2021, after an illness at CAMC – Memorial Division.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Arthur & Marie Griffith DeBord and six brothers, Rondal, Jim, Bryce, Arthur Lee, Paul, and Sammy DeBord and sister Mary Frances Burdette.

He was retired with 31 years in construction from Union Carbide (where he was known as ‘Ol Big Heart Cal), and was a member of Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church, Alum Creek.

Cal is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis, children, Connie (Charlie) Boardman, Marsha (Tom) Raker, and Brad (Denia) DeBord, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Home Health and CAMC CPICU for the wonderful care given to our dad.

Due to COVID -19 there will be a private family service. There will be a celebration of Cal’s life announced at a later date. Entombment will be at Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston, WV.

James William “Bill” Midkiff, 81, of Yawkey, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 3, 2021 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Bill was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #71, Griffithsville and Boilermaker Union #667. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Air Force Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter and Bertha Phipps Midkiff; and brother, Carter Midkiff, Jr.

Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Midkiff; daughters, Stephanie (Tickey) Wright, Kim Midkiff, and Cindy (Timothy) Pauley; grandchildren, Amber Wright Comer, Emma and Evan Pauley; and great grandson Jaxon Comer.

Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Midkiff Cemetery, Sumerco with Pastor Johnny Helvey and Timothy Pauley officiating.

Doris Jean Thomas, 86, of North Olmsted, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2021, at O’Neill Healthcare, North Olmsted, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul I. Thomas.

She was a teacher for 35 years at Valley Vista Elementary, North Royalton, OH, a longtime member of Columbia Baptist Church, Columbia Station, OH, and formerly a member of Highlawn Baptist Church, St. Albans, WV.

Doris is survived by her sons, Paul H. Thomas of FL, Alan Ray of Katy, TX, and Steven Thomas of Anchorage, AK; daughter, Sharon Herman of Parma, OH; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021, Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, WV, with Pastor Jason Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans, WV. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carla Jo Bradbury, 55, of Saint Albans, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 1, 2021, at Dunbar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Carla was a member of Green Valley Church of God. She was a former employee of Dunbar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with 34 years of service and a 1984 graduate of Duval High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jeannie Neal; sister, Lora Sands; and brother, Carl Anthony Neal.

Carla is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Bradbury; brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Jane Neal; nephews, Trevor (BeShawn) Sands and Wyatt Neal; great nephews, TreyShawn and Josiah Sands; and her canine buddy Rambo.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Green Valley Church of God in Saint Albans with Pastor Gary W. Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Watts Cemetery in Sod, WV.
