Mary Lou Riffe, 73, of South Charleston, died June 1, 2004 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.
She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill Riffe of South Charleston, John Anthony Riffe of Gallatin, Tennessee; three brothers, Willard, Roger and Frank Kent; sister, Nancy Barnette; two grandchildren.

There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, in care of arrangements.

Zeddie Gillenwater

Zeddie Gillenwater, 87, of Sumerco, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, June 1, 2004 at home after a long illness.

He was a member of the Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Sod, a retiree of DuPont, Belle Plant, with 30 years of service, an Army veteran of W WII and a member of the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768 at Alum Creek.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Virginia Brooks; his wife of six years Catherine Virginia Breedlove and six brothers and three sisters.
Zeddie is survived by his five sons, Lany of Scott Depot, Thomas and Joseph of Sumerco, Steven of South Carolina, Jonathan of Alum Creek; one daughter, Rebecca Dixon of Pipestem; one brother, Arthur of Madison; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 AM Friday, June 4, 2004 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Arnold Cook and Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768 will be in the Orchard Hills Memory Gardens at Yawkey. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
