Beulah Florence Hill, 90 of South Charleston, died Friday, September 20, 2002 at Sweetbriar of Dunbar after a short illness.

She was a homemaker and former member of the South West Church of God in South Charleston.

She is survived by her: Daughter: Marian Stover of St. Albans, WV; 2 Sons: Don Hill and wife, Barbara of Willington, OH; Robert Hill and wife, Wanda of Cleveland, OH; 12 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 16 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek on Monday, September 23, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker, a member of Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church and the Dunbar Eastern Star.

She is survived by: 1 Daughter: Janet Perry of Scott Depot, WV; Niece: Jean Tauck of California.

Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor David Cyphers officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2002 at the funeral home.

Mary Frances McClure Antill, 78 of Alkol, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2002 at CAMC General Division.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church secretary. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Arritt.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Timmy Antill of Yawkey and David Antill of Millwood; one daughter, Loretta Whitten of Alkol; one brother, Clarence McClure ofFlint, MI; two sisters, Mane Calhoun of MI and Dorothy Meadows of Alkol; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren;

Services will be held at the Sycamore Grove Missionazy Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Darrell Searls and Rev. Bill Pistore officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 from 6 to 8 PM at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek and on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jerry D. James, Sr. 66 of Alum Creek, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at CAMC General Division, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was a retired mechanic for Hobe Mining and was preceded in death by his son, Jack and granddaughter, Camy Jo Pettry. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by his: Wife: Janice Pazsons James; Daughter: Jo Ellen Pettry of Ashford; 3 Sons: Jerry D. James, Jr. of Ashford; Frank James of Marmet; Rev. John James of Alum Creek; 3 Brothers: Robert of Gleason, Tennessee; Dennis of Chicago, Illinois; Kelly of Alum Creek; 2 Sisters: Donna Pazsons of Ashford; Rita Mustel of Illinois; 17 Grandchildren; 3Step-Grandchildren; Special Friend: Evelyn Lowman Special Friends: Steve Casto Family.

Jo Ann Trent Linville Miller, of Barboursville, West Virginia.

“Jesus said” Come to me. all you who labor, and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. The gates of Heaven opened and the trumpets sounded on September 5, 2002 to welcome our loved one home to be with her Lord. after a long and courageous bout with cancer. As she ascended into Heaven, she was greeted by her earthly Mother and Father Pearl and John Trent; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was their only child. A 1954 graduate of Duval High School, she obtained her undergraduate degree from Charleston University, and a Masters degree in Administration from Marshall, plus and additiona142 hours which included a Reading Certification. She was a member of W VEA and NEA, retiring from the Lincoln Co. Board of Education with 30 years service. She was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed going to many different churches. Her spirit and love of family live on in her daughters, Glenda Clark and husband Rocky of Alkol, and Trena Jones and husband Tim of Manassas, VA. 2 sons, Johnny Linville of Yawkey, and Bruce Linville and wife Debbie of Hamlin. 6 Grandchildren, Clint Clark, of Columbus, Trent Linville of Colorado, Tracey Stratton of Connecticut, Dody Eary of Nellis, Sarah Jackson of Barboursville and Kayla Linville of Hamlin. One Step-Grandson, Chris Jones of Tyler, Texas. 5 Great Grandchildren, Alex, Emily and Ben Stratton of Connecticut, Katie Clark of Columbus, and Kelsey Jackson of Bazboursville. Special cousin, Joy Eggers of Lucasville, Ohio. Several other special cousins and friends., whom she loved dearly and Caregiver: Brenda Markus of Hamlin.

Evelyn M. Oxley, 61 of South Charleston died Saturday, August 31, 2002 at home after a long illness.

She was an employee of Putnam Aging in Winfield and was a member of the Mountain Top Assembly in South Charleston.

Surviving are her husband, Geary E. Oxley; three sons, Gregory of South Charleston, Bradford of Pinch, Geary G. of South Charleston; one daughter, Gail Salmons of South Charleston, one brother, Raymond Mann of South Charleston; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Cody, Jessica, Logan, Nicholas, Adrianna, Grant and Kristen;
Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Graceland Memorial Park, South Chazleston with Pastors David and Jean Chrest officiating. There will be a visitation for the family at the Oxley residence on Monday evening. Curry Funeral Home at Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements.

Guy C. Green, 76, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania died Friday, August 30, 2002 at Greensburg, Pennsylvania after a long illness.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and an Army Veteran of the Korean war.

He is survived by his three sons, Calvin Jones of Greensburg, Kevin and Dale Green both of Canton, Ohio; three daughters, Jennifer Painter of Delmont, Pennsylvania; Amy Rose of Columbus, Ohio; Valerie Cassidy of Ravenna, Ohio; three sisters, Anna Virginia Hughart of Orlando, Florida; Eloise Brumfield of Massillon, Ohio; Ahna Harley of Clendenin, two brothers, Danner Green of Alum Creek, Sherrill Green of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Rev Ryan Seabolt officiating. Burial will be in the Pauley Cemetery at Garretts Bend, with military graveside rites conducted by the Benny Padilla Post 4768. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. C.

Helen Parsons Newman, 81, of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2002 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston after a long illness.
She was a homemaker, a member of Olcott Church of God, and a lifelong resident of Kanawha county.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Newman.

She is survived by her: 2 Sons: Alfred Newman of South Charleston; William Everett Newman, Jr. of Las Cruces, NM; 1 Brother: John Parsons of St. Albans;
6 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lang McCallister and James McCallister officiating. Burial will be held in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Charles L. Bragg

Charles L. Bragg, 51 of Bridgeport, Pennsylvania, formerly of Sod, West Virginia, died Saturday, August 24, 2002 at his sister’s residence in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
He worked as a truck mechanic for the former Keystone Mack Company in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania for 16 years. Born in Charleston, West Virginia on January 25, 1951, he was a son of the late Frank A. and Violet V. (McClure) Bragg.

He is survived by his: 1 Son: Scott C. Bragg of Bridgeport, PA; 2 Brother: Lenny Bragg of King of Prussia, PA; Darrell Bragg of Pottstown, PA; 4 Sisters: Sue Hoser of Jeffersonville, PA; Laverne Nicholas of Sod, WV; Alice Berstler of W. Chester, PA; Mareda Reynolds of Nitro, WV; 3 Nephews and 5 Nieces.

There was a funeral service held on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 8 PM in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. There will be a graveside service in Lively Cemetery, Sod, West Virginia on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, in care of arrangements.
