Jerry D. James, Sr. 66 of Alum Creek, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at CAMC General Division, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was a retired mechanic for Hobe Mining and was preceded in death by his son, Jack and granddaughter, Camy Jo Pettry. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by his: Wife: Janice Pazsons James; Daughter: Jo Ellen Pettry of Ashford; 3 Sons: Jerry D. James, Jr. of Ashford; Frank James of Marmet; Rev. John James of Alum Creek; 3 Brothers: Robert of Gleason, Tennessee; Dennis of Chicago, Illinois; Kelly of Alum Creek; 2 Sisters: Donna Pazsons of Ashford; Rita Mustel of Illinois; 17 Grandchildren; 3Step-Grandchildren; Special Friend: Evelyn Lowman Special Friends: Steve Casto Family.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with son, John James, Rev. F.A. Giles and Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will be in the Barker Cemetery, Ashford. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
