SAM H. MAYS, 79 OF ALKOL, DIED THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 1994 AT HOME AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.

HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY A SON, LAKIN MAYS. HE WAS A RETIRED CONSTRUCTION WORKER FOR SAUL CONSTRUCTION CO., YAWKEY. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE BRIDE OF CHRIST BAPTIST, SO. CHARLESTON AND HE WAS A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF LINCOLN COUNTY.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, JAUNITA; 2 DAUGHTERS: JACKIE SUE GARNES OF ALKOL, WV; VANESSA GAIL YOUNG OF SO. CHARLESTON, WV; 3 BROTHERS: JOHN MAYS OF ST. LOUIS, MICHIGAN; GROVER MAYS OF ALMA, MICHIGAN; JAMES MAYS OF GRIFFITHSVILLE, WV; 1 SISTER: HILDA GLINKIE OF BRECKENRIDGE, MI; 3 GRANDCHILDREN: SAM HILL OF ALKOL, WV; ADAM HILL OF ALKOL, WV; DONNA KYLE OF VIRGINIA;
2 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: WILLIAM C. HILL OF ALKOL, WV; JESSICA KYLE OF VIRGINIA.

SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 1994 AT 2:00 PM WITH REV. CLARK BRYAN AND PASTOR EDDIE KING OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN MAYS FAMILY CEMETERY, ALKOL. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE FUNERAL HOME ON FRIDAY, MARCH 4, 1994 FROM 7 TO 9 PM.
