Margie Helen Flowers

Margie Helen Flowers, 68, of Alum Creek, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at CAMC-Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Lucille Tyler and brothers, Tex and Eddie Tyler.

She was a former employee of Ramada Inn, South Charleston.

Margie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary, daughter, Kim (Greg) Boyd, sons, Steven Flowers and Shawn (Sabrina) Flowers, sister, Cora Wells and Linda Tyler, and brother, Richard (Wilma) Tyler. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brianna Boyd, Denver James (D.J.) Flowers, Shawn David Flowers, Morgan Flowers, Kylie Flowers, and Aubree Flowers.

A tribute to Margie’s life will be held at the Olcott Community church at a later date.

Gladys Maxine Thomas

Gladys Maxine Thomas, 94, of Cutler, OH, formerly of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 13, 2022, at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg.

Gladys was a member of Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Thomas; daughter, Brenda Thomas; parents, Dewy and Lilly Midkiff; siblings, Admiral Jr., Leo, and Katie Allen.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Muriel Thomas of Belpre, Ohio; grandson, Chad Soice of Charleston; granddaughters, Liz and Zack Kerns of Waterford, Ohio, Sarah Soice of Charleston; great grandchildren, Peyton McCutcheon, Bentley Sickles, and Lilly Belle Sickles all of Waterford, Ohio, Madison and Brian K. Lester II, Lacy Lovejoy, Jaxon Soice, and Jacey Soice all of Charleston.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. Burial will follow at Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Teresa Elizabeth Pauley

Teresa Elizabeth Pauley, 89, of Elkview, formerly of Greenbrier County, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Valley Center, South Charleston, WV. She is preceded in death by her husband, Odie C. Pauley, and her parents, James and Nell Donahoe, sisters, Frances, Magdelene, Amelia, Pauline and Florence, and brother, Jimmy.

She is survived by her daughter, Myra Pauley of Elkview, and son, Mark Pauley of Blue Creek, and sister, Ruth Ratcliff.

Teresa was a member of Three Mile Wesleyan Church and a former home health caregiver. She loved spending time in her flower garden.

Memorial Service will be 6:00pm Friday, May 13, 2022, at Three Mile Wesleyan Church, 817 Three Mile Road, Elkview, WV, with Pastor Chris Shinn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jessie Lenzo Egnor

Jessie Lenzo Egnor, 79, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2022, at home. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, sisters and mother-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Sue Egnor of Yawkey and his two sons, William Dale Egnor and Timothy Scott Egnor both of Yawkey.

Jessie retired from the United States Marine Corp as a Corporal in 1971. He worked for RC Bottling Company and Lowes until he retired in 1995. He was an avid CB fan who also loved to hunt and fish.

Service will be 11:00am on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, 130 Academy Dr., Dunbar, WV.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank everybody who helped with his care.

Kelley Ann Stowers Lacy

Kelley Ann Stowers Lacy, 40, of Sod, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at home. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Kelly Stowers, grandparents, C.W. “Jake” and Maycel Stowers and Don & Minnie Phelix.

Kelley was a 1999 graduate of Duval High School, attended Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was currently employed by Sedgwick Claims Management Services.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Lacy, son, Austin Kelly White, step-children, Kenley Lacy and Jackson Lacy, mother, Barbara Stowers, brother, Mike (Kara) Phelix, uncle, David Stowers, aunt, Peggy Cutlip and niece, Callie Phelix.

Service will be 1:00pm Monday, May 9, 2022, with Pastor Clyde Gwin officiating, at Curry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hayzlett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jack Scott Bell

Jack Scott Bell, 56, of Alum Creek passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, at home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Workman Bell and brother, Allen Bell.

Jack is survived by his father, Larry Bell; brothers, Chucky (Trish) Bell, Shannon Bell, John Kovacic; sister, Terri Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Dena Ruth Harless

Dena Ruth Harless, 76, of Terra Alta, formerly of Lincoln County, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 2, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Dena was the daughter of the late Roma & Ruby Harris Harless. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Geneva Stowers, Barbara Tiffner and Nello Harless.

She was a 1965 graduate of Duval High school.

Dena is survived by siblings, Patty Smith, Linda Roberts, Butch (Judy) Harless, Jewell (Steve) Hudson, Laura (Mark) Taylor, Rhonda (John) Morris, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Jason Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Harless Cemetery at Sand Fork. Family and friends will gather one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Allen Keith McCormick

Allen Keith McCormick, 68, of Sumerco passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Keith was a graduate of Duval High School, worked for Rol Manufacturing Company in Orlando, FL and was a Pony Express driver for many years. He loved the outdoors, vegetable and flower gardening, and was especially known for his dahlias.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Verda Mae Tackett McCormick; brother, Kevin Brent McCormick; and brother-in-law, Harley Roberts.

Keith is survived by brothers, Arthur Wayne McCormick of Sumerco, Eric (Pam) McCormick of Buckhannon, WV, Raymond McCormick of Orlando, FL, Mark A. McCormick of Elkview, WV; sisters, Carletha Roberts of Alkol, Remona (Curtis) Cobb of Alum Creek, Kathy (Paul) Green of Alum Creek; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Sumerco Church of God with Pastor Richard McCallister officiating.

Tony Bell

Tony Bell, 82, of Alum Creek went to Heaven on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Bell; parents, Freeman and Ruth Bell; and brother, Terry Bell.

He was a 1961 graduate of Washington District High School, proudly served in the United States Army, and retired with over 40 years of service from Jeffords Corporation. He was an avid outdoorsman and family meant everything to him.

Tony is survived by daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Hightower; son, Anthony (Teresa) Bell; grandson Codye (Ashley) Bell; sisters, Joyce Ann (Eric) McAllister and Karen Gray; brother, Tim Bell and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Garden, Cross Lanes. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Michael Joseph Muskera

Michael Joseph Muskera, 49, of Bluefield, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at home.

Michael was a 1991 graduate of Bluefield High School where he was a member of the Bluefield Marching Band and played the lead role in the Bluefield High School performance of South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jon-Michael Joseph Muskera; and parents, David & Virginia Tanner Muskera.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Katie Huffman and husband Ben; sister Melinda Muskera; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Claire “Ellie” Huffman.

A celebration of life will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Oakwood Baptist Church, 855 Oakwood Road, Charleston, WV 25312 with Pastor Kyle Huffman officiating.
