JOHN D. DAVIDSON, 73, OF ALUM CREEK DIED SATURDAY, JULY 27, 1996 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN SO. CHARLESTON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS RETIRED FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA NATIONAL GUARD AS A CWO WITH 42 YEARS COMBINED MILITARY SERVICE AND HE WAS A WWII ARMY VETERAN. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE ALUM CREEK CHURCH OF CHRIST.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, FAYE; 3 SONS: JIMMY DAVIDSON OF ALUM CREEK, WV; DAVID DAVIDSON OF ALUM CREEK, WV; JOE DAVIDSON OF NAPA, CA; 1 BROTHER: JOSEPH SULLIVAN OF PITTSBURGH, PA; 10 GRANDCHILDREN; 3 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE CURRY FUNERAL HOME IN ALUM CREEK ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 1, 1996 AT 11:00 AM WITH MINISTER GERALD WATTS AND MINISTER RICHARD RUNYAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WITH MILITARY GRAVESIDE RITES CONDUCTED BY THE WV NATIONAL GUARD WILL BE HELD IN OWEN FAMILY CEMETERY, ALUM CREEK. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE FUNERAL HOME ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 1996 FROM 7 TO 9 PM.
