ELMER ELSWORTH SNODGRASS, 82, OF SO. CHARLESTON DIED SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 1996 AT HOME AFTER AN APPARENT HEART ATTACK.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE DAVIS CREEK CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE FOR 50 YEARS AND WAS A MINISTER OF VISITATION FOR 23 YEARS. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE DISTRICT ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE FOR 32 YEARS. LAY DELEGATE TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE WAS ACTIVE IN DISTRICT AND LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAMS. HE WAS A RETIRED TRUCK DRIVER FOR TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT AT UNION CARBIDE FOR 37 YEARS.
HE IS SURVIVED BY: 1 DAUGHTER: ELLA LIPSCOMB OF PINCH, WV; 1 SON: ROY SNODGRASS OF SO. CHARLESTON, WV, 8 GRANDCHILDREN AND 1 GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE DAVIS CREEK CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6, 1996 AT 1:00 PM WITH REV. MERLIN PROVANCE, REV. SKYE ALISON, REV. LEE SWOR, AND REV. MERVIN SMITH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN GRACELAND MEMORIAL PARK, SO. CHARLESTON. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE DAVIS CREEK CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE ON TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 1996 FROM 2 TO 4 PM AND FROM 6 TO 9 PM. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, IN CARE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS.
