Mary “Wavie” McCallister, 88, of Sod died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at home after a long illness.

She was a homemaker, a member ofMcCorkle Free Will Baptist Church and a life long resident of Lincoln county.

She is survived by her: 2 Daughters: Frances K. McCallister of Sod, WV; Brenda Joyce Holloway of Euless, TX; 1 Granddaughter: Chrissy Carder of Grapevine, TX; 2 Great Grandsons: Cory James Liberto; Hunter Carder; 4 Step Grandchildren; 1 Step Great Grandson.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roe Smith and Pastor Randal Butch Brogan officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Monday, July 3, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Pauline Webb Terry, 65, of Brounland Road, Alum Creek, formerly of Rainelle, WV, died Thursday, June 22, 2000 at Montgomery General Hospital after a short illness.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by:3 Daughters: Deborah Fogus of Frankford, WV; Paula Jordan of Rainelle, WV; Tammy McMillion of Smoot, WV; 1 Son: Randy T. Terry of NC; 3 Brothers: Paris Parnell Webb of Dayton, OH; Rev. James A. Webb of Alum Creek, WV; Paul Webb of Pittsburgh, PA; 10 Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, 25, 2000 at 2:30PM with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston. Friends may ca112 hours prior to service at the funeral home.

Donald K. “Reb” Vickers, 56 of Trooper, PA formerly of Alkol, W V Died Tuesday June 20, 2000 at his home after a long illness.

He was a warehouseman for Flemming Foods Inc., in Oaks, PA for 32 years, Graduate of Duval High Class of 1962, He served as a coach, manager, and announcer for the Eagleville Little League The Eagleville, PA Ballfield was named in his honor and is now the Vickers Field. He also served as a volunteer for the Plymouth Ambulance Service and is known as Ridgerunner by fellow C.B Operators. He was a Vietnam War Vet. Where he served as a medical corpsman in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen &Arnie Vickers.

Surv. By his Wife: Gail; 2 sons: Donald Weaver of Brick , NJ & Charles Pool of Eagleville, PA; 4 Daughters: Dawn Weaver and Christina Weaver both of Brick, NJ; Tamy Vickers of Parkerford, PA; Jacqueline Becker of North Wales, PA; 2 Brothers: Denver Vickers of Alkol and Earl Gay Vickers of Myrtle Beach, SC; 1 Sister: Opal Clarkof Alkol; 13 Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 8 PM Thursday at the Szpindor Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave., Trooper PA with Rev Ernest E. Mascho Officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 24 in the Vickers Family Cemetery at Alkol, WV with military graveside rites by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. Curry Funeral Home at Alum Creek is in charge of local arrangements.

Jerry Lee Dunlap, 62 of Alum Creek, died Sunday, June 18, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after an apparent heart attack.

He was a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his: Wife: Linda; 2 Sons: Jay Dunlap of Sod, WV; Chris Dunlap of Sod, W V; 2 Sisters: Lorraine Hornsby of Sod, W V; Janet Scites of Hurricane, WV; 1 Brother: John Dunlap of Sod, WV; 2 Grandsons: Weston Dunlap of Sod, WV; Dylan Dunlap of Sod, WV;

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ross Dunlap and Damon Dunlap both of Sod.

Webster “WEB” Pauley, 65, of Tornado, died Friday June 16, 2000 at home after a long illness from prostate cancer.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America and Tornado Apostolic Church at Tornado. He was a retired chemical operator with Monsanto in Nitro, a Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post # 72 at St. Albans.

He is survived by his: Wife: Mary Omazell McCormick Pauley; Daughter: Lora Leigh Ward of Tornado, WV; Half Sisters: Wanda Mae Estep of Cocoa, FL; Juanita Fitzwater of Tornado, W V; Half Brothers: Paul Chapman of Marion, VA; James Chapman of Alabama; Grandson: Jesse Robert Ward of Tornado, WV.

Hazel “Revell” Whitten, 94, of Yawkey died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness.

She was a retired Cook for Lincoln County Schools, a member of Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cesco, her son, Joe Whitten, and her granddaughter Wanda Swyers.

She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Mary Lipscomb of Kimberly, WV Verna Meadows of Louisville, KY Son: Donald Whitten of Mooresville, NC; Brother: Hayward Stephens of Olney, III; 8 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Many nieces and nephews.

Frederick H. Songer, Jr., of South Charleston died Monday May 29, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was a disabled laborer and attended Ruth Community Church and was a life long resident of Kanawha County.

He is survived by: Wife: Carolyn Lee Songer 2 Sons: Frederick H. Gilbert Emery Mellen

Gilbert Emery Mellen, 79 of St. Albans, West Virginia, died Saturday, May 27, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital So. Charleston, West Virginia after a short illness.

He was the son ofthe late Walter Emery and Catherine Malick Mellen, was born on March 16, 1921 in Akron, Iowa. He was also preceded in death by his sister Cleah Hams Boggs. Mr. Mellen was a Phi Betta Kappa Graduate of Iowa State University, worked on nuclear projects at the University of California at Berkley, and at Oak Ridge Tennessee during World War II. In 1983, he retired from Union Carbide after 37 years of service as a chemist. Mr. Mellen was a faithful and dedicated member of the Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans, where he served many years as a Sunday School Teacher, Organist and financial Secretary and on April 30, 2000 was awarded a plaque commemorating his s0 years as church organist.

He is survived by his: Wife: Dorothy Layman Mellen; 2 Daughters: Deanne Mellen Moore of King, NC; Catherine Mellen LeGrand of Houston, TX; Son: Gene Emery Mellen of Lansing, MI; 6 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Highlawn Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Dr. LeRoy Keeney and Pastor Dr. Joe Hyde officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, family request that memorial contributions be made to the Highlawn Baptist Church Building Fund 2304 Jefferson Ave. St. Albans, West Virginia 25177.
