Anna Lou Cassle

Anna Lou Cassle, 84, of Yawkey passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at home surrounded by loved ones with her favorite Elvis song playing.

She was an active member, piano player, secretary and youth leader at Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Anna Lou retired from Beneificial Finance as a Finance Manager and from Chase Bank as a Collection Agent. She spent her retirement traveling with her best friend and soul mate, Nat Cassle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nat; daughter, Faith; parents, Fred and Flossie Ryan; sisters, Lois, Ada, Trudy and Iola; and brothers, Curtis, Eugene and Kenny.

Anna Lou is survived by her caregivers and beloved nieces, Tammy Lowery Presley, Sunny Hicks Jackson, Kati Presley, Symone Walker and many more loved family and friends.

Service will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Jackie Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A committal service will be noon Tuesday, December 12, at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens in Yawkey.

 

Peter Wolfgang Stolz

Peter Wolfgang Stolz, 70, of Alum Creek went home to the Lord surrounded by family and friends Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison.

He is survived by daughters, Eva (D.J.) Warner and Julie (Jeremy) Johnson; and grandchildren, Hannah, Karrah, Kevin, Hayden, Ryan and Jane Ellen.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastors Isaiah Hatfield and Ron Scott officiating. Burial will follow at the Hill Cemetery in Julian.  The family will receive friends one  hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

Kevin Eugene Dunlap

Kevin Eugene Dunlap, 57, of Sod, W. Va., went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017 at home after a short illness.

Kevin was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and a graduate of Duval High School. He worked at various jobs throughout his life, but he will be remembered most for the delicious steaks he cooked while working at the Bonanza restaurant in St. Albans.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy; dad, Walter Dunlap; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ocie Gillenwater; and paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Beedie Dunlap.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa; mother, Joyce Dunlap; brother, Greg (Sherry) Dunlap; sister, Lisa (Allen) Pauley; stepchildren, Michael and Paul Davis and Lorna Nicholas; step grandsons, J.T. Nicholas and Noah Davis; great granddaughter, Lexi; cousin, David Lucas for whom he was caretaker. He will be greatly missed by all of his family, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Homer Hensley and Mark Ruby officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions for the funeral service.

 

Ronnie Lynn Banks

Ronnie Lynn Banks, 65, of Sumerco passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was a school bus driver for the Lincoln County Board of Education for 36 years and a graduate of Duval High School.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Dennie “Jiggs” and Myrtle Banks.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Reba; sons, Jamon Banks and Jamey Bryant; daughter, Amanda Bowman; brother, Dennie Ray (Linda) Banks; grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Jaidyn, Chase and Dallas; and many other close friends and relatives.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5th, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens in Yawkey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Charles William Hudson

Charles William Hudson, 90, of Tornado passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

He was the son of the late Renus Julius and Okey Hazel Miller Hudson.

Charles was preceded in death by his life partner, Marie Sansbury; granddaughter, Theressia Renee Hudson; three brothers and three sisters.

He was the former owner of Central Service Co. in Charleston.

Charles is survived by his children, Rea Jo (Doug) Waldo, “Chip” (Kerri) Hudson, Cathy (Chris) Oliviera and Teresa Loudermilk; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and special friend and caregiver, Pam George.

There will be no services.

 

Marjorie Daisy Lipscomb

Marjorie Daisy Lipscomb, 89, of Alum Creek went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 24, 2017.

She was an active member of the Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Kmart after working 26 years at the Kanawha City location.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, G. V. Lipscomb.

She is survived by her son, Jerry W. (Pam) Lipscomb; daughter, Monta Boggs; brother, Jack (Twila) Runyan; grandchildren, J. D. and Timmy Boggs; and several great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 27th,  at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Keith George officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

William Rutherford

William Rutherford, 95, of Fayetteville, W. Va., went home Thursday, November 23, 2017.

He was the son of the late Fleming Alderson and Roxy Vickers Rutherford; also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Licia Lynn Rutherford.

William was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Rutherford Pauley; son, William Alderson (Robin) Rutherford; grandchildren, Donald Pauley, William Joe Ballew and Lydia Rutherford; great grandchildren, Tirany, Elijah, Emma, Alyvia, Bella, Jase, Angelynn and Layla.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, at Graceland Memorial Park with Pastor Bub Anderson officiating. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768.

Jerry Wayne Means

Jerry Wayne Means, 73, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 20, 2017.

He was a retired truck driver and mechanic. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a longtime member of the Nitro Moose Lodge.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Kathleen Means; brother, Walter A. Means; and sister, Erma Dunlap.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Ann Means Mitchell; sons Steve Means and Glenn Spurlock (Means); the mother of his children, Georgia; granddaughters, Ashley & Whitney Mitchell and Morgan & September Means; brother, Dallas; sisters, Pat Hopkins, Violet Eads, Linda Anselment, Carolyn Johnson, Becky Bowen and Darlene Gillerlain; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was an outgoing person and everyone who met him loved him. His family meant the world to him, especially his four granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25th, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek. Burial will follow at the B. J. Means Memorial Cemetery in South Charleston with military graveside honors conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768.

The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tim Graley

Tim Graley, 58, of Emmons, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at CAMC-Memorial Division, Charleston.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Winfred & Juanita Graley and sister, Nanette Maynard.

He was an auto mechanic at Lester Raines.

He is survived by his sons, Tim (Seema) Graley and David (Christina) Graley, brother, Michael,  sisters, Kathy Garretson and Jackie (Roger) Ross,  grandsons, Austin, Gabe, Xander, and Jack.

Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Emmons Church of God with Pastors Mike Graley and Charles Hardy officiating.  Burial will follow at Barker Cemetery, Ashford.  Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church.

John V. Bagley, Jr.

John V. Bagley, Jr., 91, of St. Albans went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 2, 2017.

He was born January 23, 1926 in Mammoth, WV to the late John V. Sr. and Jessie Bagley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eloise and several siblings.

John was a very caring man toward his kids. He loved golf and WVU football and basketball. He also loved to work on anything that needed to be fixed around the house. John invented a lot of things for his medical needs for which we called him the “mad scientist”! He was definitely a man’s man.

He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. John retired from Union Carbide with 37 years service. He was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church where he served on many boards.

John is survived by his daughter, Betty Sue Bagley; sons, John C. and Ralph E. Bagley; and sister, Mary Williamson.

Service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans with Roger Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans.
