Maggie Mae Graley

June 17th, 2015 | Posted by curryfuneralhome in Obituaries - (3 Comments)

Maggie GraleyMaggie Mae Graley, 93, of Alum Creek, got her angels wings on June 14, 2015.  She was born in Nellis, Boone County, to Mary George and Herbert Wolfe.  Known as “Mama Maggie” to so many, she was a cook at Washington District High School, where many students enjoyed her homecooking.  Trust me, no one made homemade biscuits and gravy like Mama Maggie.  Her greatest love was outfishing everyone at her camp in Pochontas County.  She normally caught the “biggest fish” and if not, she would make-up the “biggest fish” stories!  If she wasn’t telling a fish story by the camp fire, then she was telling haunted stories to the grandkids.  She was definitely loved beyond measure and will be missed by all.

Thank-you to the many caregivers, especially Dolley Graley.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Graley and her beloved, youngest son, Carlos Graley.

She is survived by her sons, Danny Graley (Brenda) of Copperas Cove, TX, Wayne Graley (Dolley) of Alum Creek, Harold “Hooks” Graley (Susie) of South Charleston, and Daughter-in-law, Delores Graley of Alum Creek.  She is survived by numerous grand and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held 11:00am Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Curry Funeral Home Chapel, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Rev. Mayford Witt and Rev.
