Robert Lee “Rob” Wright, Sr., 40, of Springhill passed suddenly Tuesday, June 9, 2015.
He was a 19 year employee of Kroger. Robert was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, nephew, uncle and friend. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family. He was definitely a “family man”.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Virginia; sons and their wives, Dyllon Wright (Summer) and Robert Wright, Jr. (Hilary); grandchildren, Kaylee, Dyllon Jr., Colten, Kannon and Braylin; brother, Steve Wright; grandmother Greta Mallory; mother and stepfather, Donna and Frank Hoffman and many other family and friends.
Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 13, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Fox Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
I worked with Robert at the Kanawha City Kroger for several of years. I am now retired and was shocked when another employee told me about Roberts death. I was also near death in a car wreck in November 2014, but I was able to overcome my problems heal up pretty good. Robert will be missed by me and by the entire Kroger family.

I worked with Robert at Kroger when I was in high school, around ten years ago. I only worked there for a brief period, but every single time since that I have encountered Robert at Kroger, he has smiled at me and asked how I’ve been doing. As someone else said, he definitely had a twinkle in his eye. You could tell that he was a happy, kind man. He will be sorely missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss.
Robert was a good man and great Kroger employee. He worked for me for the short time I worked at the Kanawha City Kroger. My family’s thoughts and prayers are with Virginia, the kids, and the entire Wright family. Rest in peace, Robert.
Sending Love an Sympathy from your Shoney’s Family.
I was very saddened to hear about Robert’s passing. I was one of his many customers at Kroger. He brightened my day each time I saw him. He always greeted me with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. My heart goes out to all his loved ones. He was a good and kind man who loved his family and life. I feel blessed to have known him. He will be greatly missed.
