Icie P. Egnor Stowers, 93 of Griffithsville, died Thursday, February 15, 2001 Hospital after a short illness.

She was a homemaker, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by husband, Imogene Carnes.

She is survived by her: 5 Daughters: Ann Mericsko of Cleveland, OH; Shella Mae Sowards of Sumerco, WV; Eloise Pauley of Hamlin, WV; Maxine Lovejoy of Griffithsville, WV; Barbara Schock of Cleveland, OH; 3 Sons: Nevel Junior Stowers of Sarasota, FL; Bill Stowers of Griffithsville, WV; Jerry Stowers of Griffithsville, WV; 2 Brothers: Boyd Egnor of Mineral Wells, WV; Shirley Engor ofHamiln, WV; 1 Sister: Opal Egnor Dibbles of FL; at Cabell Huntington Nevel and daughter, 17 Grandchildren , 28 Great-Grandchildren and 2Great-Great- Grandchildren.

Services will be at the Curry Funeral Home on Sunday, February 18, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Minister Bill Edwards and Pastor Rick Cooper officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.

Jearldean Stowers, 82 of Alum Creek died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a long illness.

She was a retired Nurse Assistant for Dr. Loren Smith at Alum Creek. She was a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ and served for 15 years as a volunteer at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.

She is survived by her: 2 Daughters and 1 Son-in-Law: Linda Meister of Columbus, OH; Steve &Kay Mays of Butler, KY; 1 Sister: Pearl Wade of St. Albans, WV;
1 Brother: Earl Lawson of Tango, WV; 2 Grand-daughters: Melissa Boggs Andrea Breuggen; 3 Great Grandchildren. Alex and Katie Boggs Noah Breuggen.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Friday, February 16, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Minister Richard Runyan and Minister Gerald Watts officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call Thursday, February 15, 2001 from 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.

Bertha M. Childress, 92 of South Charleston, died Saturday, February 10, 2001 at home after a long illness.

She was retired from Food Machinery Corp. in South Charleston and was a care giver. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Sumerco and a life long resident of Kanawha County.

She is survived by her: 4 Daughters: Carolyn Martin and Janet Blake both of South Charleston, WV; Thelma Moore of Charleston, WV; Barbara Bowman of Alum Creek, W V; 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to: Kanawha Hospice Care Inc., 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
