Thomas A. Pauley

Thomas A. Pauley, 46, of Richmond, Virginia, formerly of Tango, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the VCU Medical Center / MCV Medical Hospital and Physicians, Richmond, Virginia after a short illness.

He was a 1976 graduate of Duval High School, a construction foreman for W. J. Rapp Construction in Richmond and a member of Joe’s Creek Baptist Church, Tango.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Addison Pauley and granddaughter, Ariel Emaline Garrison; He is survived by: His wife: Judy; Mother: Betty Lou Pauley of Tango; Brother & sister-in-law: Rexford and Brenda Pauley of Sod; Sister & brother-in-law: Denise and Jerry Duncan of Hamlin; 2 Step-daughters: Lori Cris Garrison and Casey Cook; Nieces and nephews: Melissa McClure, Rexanna Fitzwater, Rex Pauley, II, Jeremy Mitchell, Hope Hunting, Josh Duncan, Teresa Pauley, Robert and Kelly Dodson; Eight great nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law: Betty Kinder; and many, many close friends.

Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Lester Bell and Pastor Jerry Duncan officiating. Burial will be held in Pauley Cemetery, Tango. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Lewis H. Stone

Lewis H. Stone, 72, of Hernshaw, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November, 8, 2004 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was retired from the City of Charleston Municipal Parking System and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Christian and attended Lens Creek Wesleyan Church.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and Josephine Hicks Stone; sister, Linda Holley; brother, David Stone and one great grandson, Chris Jr.

He is survived by his loving family, children, Pamela Trimper and husband, John of Melvindale, MI, Brian Stone and wife, Roberta of South Charleston; sisters, Mary Louise Young of Charleston, Barbara Holstein of Ashford, brothers, Joey Stone of Ashford, Charles Stone of Emmons, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Rev. Roger Gogus officiating. Burial will be held at Barker Cemetery, Ashford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Sandy Dunlap McCallister

Sandy Dunlap McCallister, 60, of Griffithsville, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at home following a long illness.

Sandy is survived by her, husband, Buddy; one son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Paula McCallister of Alkol; daughter, Kristen McCallister at home; granddaughter, Megan; four sisters, Zulema McClure and Ardith Dunlap both of Sumerco; Sherry Thomas of Yawkey; Bonnie Roberts of Griffithsville; two brothers, Marcel Dunlap of Alum Creek; Kenneth Dunlap of Sod.

Services will be 2:00 PM W ednesday, November 10, 2004 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Katherine Dunlap

Katherine Dunlap, 83, of McCorkle went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 6, 2004 at home after a long illness.

She was a member of McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Dunlap.

She is survived by one daughter, Loleta Justice of Sumerco; two sons, Charles “Bo” Dunlap and wife, Sandra of McCorkle, Bernard “Buford” Dunlap of McCorkle; two sisters, Delphia Miller of Charleston; Freeda Dunlap of McCorkle; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday November 9, 2004 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Rexal Cooper and Rev. Meddie “Jinks” Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, McCorkle. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Randy Lynn Pauley

Randy Lynn Pauley, 48, of Charleston, formerly of Yawkey, died this past week in Charleston of unknown causes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Tony Pauley.

Randy was a sprinkler fitter, a member of the Sprinklers Fitters Union, a 1974 graduate of Duval High School, and a member of Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church, Alum Creek, where he had served as a choir member and a Sunday School youth teacher.

He is survived by: Son: Jared Pauley of Charleston; Mother: Mary Pauley of Yawkey; Sister and brother-in-law: Abigail and Charles “Buddy” McClure of Alkol; 3 Brothers & sisters-in-law: Tony Jr. “Butch” and Rhonda Pauley of St. Albans; Rex and Ilean Pauley of Hurricane; Scotty and Deanna Pauley of Yawkey.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 5, 2004 at Lively Cemetery, Sod with Rev. Chester Bird and Rev. Robert Leadman officiating. There will be no visitation. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, in care of arrangements.

She was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Meadows; parents, Edward and Anna Davis Holstine; sisters, Orpha Moore, Nola Parsons, and Magdeline Spaulding; brothers, Charles, Ray, Emory, Howard and Joe Holstine; special niece, Dorothy Moore.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bill Graley of South Charleston, three sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn Lovell Meadows and William G. Meadows both of South Charleston, Rick and Lori Meadows of Charleston; two grandchildren, Jeremy Graley, and Tiffany Graley; three great grandchildren; two special nieces, Dolly Faye Maggard and Mary Janes Hypes.

He was a Veteran of WWII and a retiree of Mountain State Mack.
