Patricia Sue McCallister

Patricia McCallister

Patricia Sue Adams McCallister, 58, of Julian passed away after a long month of struggle to survive. Patty’s tired body could not fight any longer. Although she experienced chronic health issues, she always seemed to land on her feet, but this time proved to be different; she just could not overcome the giant set-backs. She died at CAMC Memorial on Monday, January 27, 2014. She had wonderful SICU nurses, respiratory therapists and doctors.

Patty graduated from Scott High School. She worked for Black’s Grocery Store for 22 years until their closing. She later worked in the Child Advocacy Office where she met her two best buddies, Shanetta and Terry. Thank you girls for all your support.

Patty was a wonderful daughter. She gave up her home to help care for her parents through several illnesses and injuries each had over the last few years. Patty had a passion for crafting, sewing her “imperfect animals” and other creations. She enjoyed selling these at local craft shows. Her cross stitch was so neatly done one could almost frame the back side. She was an avid and fast reader. Patty loved to shop whether for fabric, clothes or gifts for others. QVC will miss her!

She is survived by her parents, Chester and Dorcas Adams of Julian. Her brother and sister-in-law, Greg Adams and Carol Gee of Foster. Also, missing her will be her kitty, Sam. She is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins, especially her texting cousin, Gloria Soice of Cross Lanes and her special aunt Louise Pauley of Sunbury, Ohio.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 29, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Chuck Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens at Yawkey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A nurse made her a gauze bow for her hair on her last night of ICU; this suited Patty perfectly, as she was known for meeting family and friends at the door on Christmas Eve with a jingle bell headband with blinking lights. Patty will be sorely missed
