DOLLIE MAE LINVILLE HILL, 76, OF WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, FORMERLY OF ALUM CREEK, DIED TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1997 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, SOUTH CHARLESTON, AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.

SHE WAS A BUSINESS PERSON, OWNER OF THE HILL APARTMENTS AND OPERATOR OF A PERSONAL CARE HOME. SHE WAS ALSO VERY INVOLVED IN CHURCH ACTIVITIES AND A TRUSTEE OF THE FREEDOM GOSPEL MISSION AND ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WACE TV CHRISTIAN CABLE TV STATION IN ALUM CREEK. SHE WORKED VERY HARD IN SUPPORTING DOLLIE HILL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY THAT WAS NAMED IN HER HONOR. THE DOLLIE HILL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY WAS FOUNDED IN 1975 DURING THE KANAWHA COUNTY TEXTBOOK CONTROVERSY. SHE HAD ALSO BEEN A SCHOOL TEACHER IN LINCOLN COUNTY. MRS. HILL HAS ALSO WORKED AS A SOCIAL WORKER FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. SHE HAD DEVOTED MUCH OF HER LIFE TO HELPING OTHERS. SHE WAS PRESENTLY WORKING IN THE MINISTRY WITH HER SON, THE REV. AVIS L. HILL IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA WHERE SHE WAS RESIDING AND CAME HOME FOR A VISIT.
