RAYMA Z. BROWN, 66, OF CHARLESTON DIED WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1997 AT ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL, CHARLESTON AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.
SHE WAS A PLANT ASSIGNER AT BELL ATLANTIC WITH 33 YEARS OF SERVICE, A MEMBER OF THE TELEPHONE PIONEERS OF AMERICA, A MEMBER OF THE KANAWHA CITY CHURCH OF CHRIST, A 1949 GRADUATE OF DUVAL HIGH SCHOOL, A VOLUNTEER AT ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL AND THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION, WAS A MEMBER OF COMMUNICATION WORKERS OF AMERICA GOLDEN AGE CLUB WHICH SHE WAS SECRETARY – TREASURER, WAS A MEMBER OF BELL ATLANTIC CHORALIERS WHICH SHE WAS TREASURER, AND SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MOUNTAINEERS FAN CLUB.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER: HUSBAND: ELWOOD; 2 SONS: MIKE BROWN OF ROANOKE, VA; MARK BROWN OF CHARLESTON, WV; 5 SISTERS: MELBA MCCALLISTER OF CLINTON, TN; IMA MOORE OF HURRICANE, WV; MYRNA PARKER OF CHARLESTON, WV; JOYCE HARLAN OF ELKVIEW, WV; JOANN DUNLAP OF SOD, WV; 1 BROTHER: LINDELL NEAL OF ORANGEBURG, SC; 2 GRANDCHILDREN: KELLY & CAMERON OF RALEIGH, NC.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE KANAWHA CITY CHURCH OF CHRIST ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1997 AT 2:00 PM WITH MINISTER STEVE FOX AND MINISTER GERALD WATTS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN ELK HILLS MEMORIAL PARK. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 1997 FROM 7 TO 9 PM AT THE CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK AND 1 HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE AT THE CHURCH.
