FFrances McCallisterrances Katherine McCallister, 78, daughter of the late James Everett “Fuzzy” McCallister and Mary Wavie Dunlap McCallister, went home to meet our Lord and Savior on January 14, 2017.

Formerly of Sod, WV, Frances had resided in Grapevine, TX since 2003. She was a graduate of Duval High School, 1957. At a young age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized, and became a life long member of McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church.

Frances will be remembered as a wonderful example of a loving daughter to her parents, and a good sister. She loved her favorite TV shows, reading, music (especially Elvis), and most of all, to travel. She traveled extensively with her only sister after moving to Texas in 2003.

Her beautiful memory and example of a loving sister will be remembered by her only sibling, Brenda Joyce McCallister Holloway (Sanford) of Bedford, TX; niece, Chrissy Shannon Carder (Jeff) of Grapevine, TX; nephews, Cory Liberto and Hunter Carder of Grapevine, TX, and many friends in the Grapevine community….and a host of cousins and friends in West Virginia….her “home”.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Roe Smith officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.

The family invites you to join them for a Committal Service at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, WV immediately following the service, where Mark Nelson, Bagpiper, will perform.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The American Heart Association or The Diabetes Association.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Francis. She was in my class of 1957 at Duval. A very nice and caring person. She was able to come to our last class reunion.
