Charles Eugene Kidd

charles-kidd-jpg-2Charles Eugene Kidd, 80, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice West in South Charleston.

He was a member of the first graduating class of Duval High School at Griffithsville in 1954.  Charles worked as a foreman for Vic Green Construction; he was a pipefitter at FMC; and a roofer and sheetmetal worker at Kanawha County Schools.   He also had his own concrete business on the side.

Charles was a member of Ruth Community Church where he recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Annie Kidd, five sisters and one great grandson.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; sons, Charles (Julia) Kidd and Anthony (Betty) Kidd; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Charles A. Kidd officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in South Charleston.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV  25387-2536.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I will never forget Charlie made me a deer call when I was about 13 (37 years ago). I had never heard of such a thing.

Rest In Peace Great Uncle Charles. I always enjoyed visiting when Mamaw and Papaw would take me there.
