Emogene N. McMillian

Emogene Nida McMillian, 83, of Lake Placid, FL, went to be with her Lord on Monday morning October 3, 2016 at her residence.

She was born July 29, 1933 to parents, Emma (Duty) and Henry F. Nida in Hamlin, West Virginia.  She was a school teacher in Lincoln and Kanawha counties for 40 years.   The last 30 years were at Malden Elementary in Malden, West Virginia.

Emogene was an avid reader who enjoyed a great novel and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid.

She was preceded in death by bother her parents; brother, James; and sisters, Genevieve, Louise, Helen and Mary Joe.

Mrs. McMillian is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Robert and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Emogene’s life was held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Faith Baptist Church, 660 Holmes Avenue, Lake Placid, Fl.  A visitation for family and friends was held one hour prior to service time.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Lincoln Memorial Park in Hamlin.  Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek is caring for the family.
