Mervin Eugene Cooper

Mervin Eugene Cooper of Sod, passed away December 20, 2006 at Thomas Memorial Hospital So. Charleston after a short illness.

He was born August 1, 1936 and was a life long resident of Sod. West Virginia. He was a member of the McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the West Virginia Laborers Union 1353.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mervin Clarence and Eloise Cooper and sister Yvonne Pauley Justice.

He is survived by his:

Bobby Cooper of Alum Creek, and Rodney Cooper and wife Jenny of Sumerco;

Daughter:

Melinda Lyons and husband Thomas of Sissonsville;

4 Grandchildren:

Shantel Cooper, Dakota Cooper, Zack Lyons and Nick Lyons;

Sister:

Dreama Gay Allen and husband Jerry of Sod;

Niece:

Hope Allen;

Nephew:

Keith Pauley;

Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 23, at McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Roe Smith and Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery at McCorkle. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 Friday at the Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road Alum Creek.
