Frieda Suiter

Frieda Ramona Suiter of Saint Albans died on Thursday, September 5, 2013 in the emergency room of Thomas Hospital of South Charleston, five days before her 85th birthday. The immediate cause of death was a heart seizure, though she suffered from dementia for some twelve (12) years.

Frieda was a retired homemaker, though she had worked in secretarial and accounting roles in businesses both in Charleston and Huntington. She faithfully served in the highest role that has been reserved for a woman, that of the mother of her five (5) children. She served faithfully in that role, so that today, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (Lemuel, 2015 BC) Today her children honor her for her caring love, her willingness to forgive, her ability to determine what is important and to emphasize that, her encouragement, her Godly example, her loyalty, and her faithful support as her children sought their place in life. Even in death, she still speaks with her words of wisdom which will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Elsie Adkins of Chesapeake, Ohio; a sister, Marjorie Wolfe of Proctorville, Ohio; and her brother, Melvin Adkins, Jr., who lived but a short time.

Frieda is survived by her husband, Dr. Phil Suiter, of Saint Albans; her five (5) children: Pam Jeffcott (Tom) of Cedar City, Utah; Kim Cook (Scott) of Buffalo, West Virginia; Dr. Kevin Suiter (Grace) of Indianapolis, IN; Jonathan Suiter of St. Albans; and Patrick Suiter (Mara Lee) of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; her eight (8) grandchildren; her six (6) great grandchildren; her three nieces: Myra Jean Love (Franklin) of Proctorville, Ohio; Connie Lester of Ironton, Ohio; and Marian Rae Cooper (Bob) of Proctorville, Ohio. In addition, there are numerous relatives, friends and neighbors who are saddened today because of her home-going.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Twin City Bible Church, 100 1st. Ave., Nitro, West Virginia. Her husband, Phil, will be officiating. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, prior to the funeral service. Burial will be the following day, Saturday, September 14, 2013 (11:00 a.m.) at Highland Memorial Gardens, 198 Private Road 1336, South Point, Ohio.

We never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Suiter but we have known Kim and Scott Cook for years and they are wonderful people. If Kim is any indication if what her mom was like I’m sure never knowing her is our loss. We are praying for the entire family that the Lords love will get you through the time ahead.
God Bless

One of the most graceful and loving women I have ever met. I will always remember her quiet smile and the way that she lived. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to spend the day with her, many years ago, learning to make pies. We laughed, we cried and enjoyed the day together. Freida was an example for all women to follow. I love you Freida.

I will always cherish so many precious childhood memories of my dear Aunt Freida. May you find comfort and peace in our lord. I will keep all of her family in my prayers .
