Rita Sharon Woodall, 68, of Hurricane went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 1, 2012.

She was first and foremost a mother, grandmother and homemaker; a 1961 graduate of Duval, and member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of Left Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Larry and Rita traveled to Okeechobee, Florida during the winter months and also loved spending time at the family farm in Lincoln County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Edith Carper Dotson; and sister, Betty Stump.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry; son, Larry Stephen Woodall of Culloden; daughter Cindy Tucker of Hurricane; grandsons, Stephen Woodall of Charlotte, NC,and Sebastian Tucker of Hurricane; sisters, Phyllis Garnes of Alum Creek, Patricia Anderson of New Hampshire, Paula Hackworth and Bonita Adkins both of Cross Lanes.

She will also be sadly missed by many other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Randell Kinder officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to give special thanks to CAMC Memorial, Hospice West and Anita Clark for their special care during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387.

Gladys M. (Carper) Haid

Gladys M. (Carper) Haid, 95 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Tuesday February 28, 2012 at Marmet Center after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Maude Carper, husband Clarence W. Haid and sisters Edith Dotson and Pauline Holstein, all originally from Lincoln County.

Gladys was a retired hairdresser from Osbornes Beauty Salon in Charleston and formerly employed at Stone and Thomas Department Store in Charleston.

 She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1:00 PM Monday March 5, at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Robert Leadman officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens Yawkey. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Monday.

Juanita Evelyn Spears

Juanita Evelyn Spears, 66, of Nellis went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Spears, son Dewayne Spears, mother, Juanita Tye and brother, Mitt Tye.

She attended Rumble Community Baptist Church and for many years she served as a in-home care -giver.

Juanita is survived by her daughters Gail Shelton and Bethel Adkins both of Foster, Annette (Kit) Richardson of Nellis, son Lee (Dawn) Spears of Elkview, grandchildren Anthony Hager, Tia Shelton, Leah, Victoria, and Isaac Messer, Channing Richardson, great grandchildren Ali and Aleeah Simms, and Bryum Richardson, sisters Christine Crews of Hawaii and Jackie Means of Charleston.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Richard Harrold officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Family and friends will gather Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
