Bonnie Lou Kirk, 62, of Olcott went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 9, 2008.

She was a member of Olcott Community Church.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Delana.

She is survived by:

3 Sons: Ronnie, Mark & Marvin all of Olcott\

2 Sisters: Montana Lovejoy of Twilight and

Doris Buffington of Nellis

1 Brother: Danny Holstein of Olcott

Five grandchildren

The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Mike Graley officiating.  Burial will be in Graceland Memorial  Park,  South Charleston.  Friends and family  may gather from 7 to 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.

Richard Owen Bowles

Richard  Owen  Bowles, 61, of Yawkey died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston,  of an apparent heart attack.

He was born May 21, 1947 at West Hamlin to the late Roscoe & Jewel Owen.  He was preceded in death in death by “Dad” Doss and “Mom” Bessie Bowles; half-brother, Kenny Owen and half-sister, Sharon Owen.

He was an Vietnam Army Veteran and was  currently employed by Walmart at South Ridge. He was a former insulator with Union Carbide Construction, was a Christian and member of Joe’s Creek Baptist Church at Tango.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years:   Melinda

Daughter: Tonia Stephens & husband, Terry of Yawkey

Son: Michael at home

3 Brothers:

Larry Owen of Alum Creek

David Napier of Huntington &

Terry Owen of Institute

Sister: Gerri of Oregon

Half-sisters:

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Curry Funeral Home Chapel, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating.  Burial with military graveside rites by tha Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768 will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.  Friends may gather  from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Wanda Lucille Graley-Wolfe, 73, of Nellis went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 6, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was a Christian and attended Brushton Methodist Church and Left Fork Baptist Church.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 55 years, George “Blackeye” Wolfe.  She is also survived by her children; George Wolfe, Jr. and Libby of Nellis; Sue Mooney and Randy of Peytona; Roger Wolfe and Teresa of Nellis; Debi Kinder and Randell of Ashford; Angie Wolfe of Peytona; and Patricia  Jordan of Nellis.

Surviving grandchildren are Christy Thomas of Seth; Sherri Perdue of Ashford; Tabitha Parcell of Lewisburg; Stacy Reed of Elkview; Rachel Hager of Nellis; Josaiah Kinder of Ashford; Roger Wolfe, Jr., of Nellis; and Bethany and Tessa Kinder of Ashford.

Wanda has 8 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life; McKenzie and Matthew Thomas, Sydney Perdue, Ethan Barker, Rileigh Reed, Elyssa and T. J. Hager and Anika Wolfe.

Surviving brother, James Graley & wife, Fina of Niland, CA; and sister, Josephine Graley Hughes Burgiss of Oak Hill, WV.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Clay & Mae Graley of St. Albans.

Wanda was a wonderful wife,  mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Funeral will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastors Randell and Danny Kinder officiating.  Burial will be in Barker Cemetery, Ashford.  Friends and family  may gather Monday from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Eunice “Karen” Dunlap 65 of Alum Creek died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Belmont, Mississippi after a battle with lung cancer.

Karen was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley.

She was a member of McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church and also attended Maranatha Fellowship.

Karen is survived by her daughters; Rhonda McNeil of Charlotte, North Carolina, Teresa Anderson of Alum Creek, Crystal Harrison of Clinton, North Carolina, Kim Montgomery and Sarah Nelson both of Belmont, Mississippi. One  sister; Adene Barker of Alum Creek and two brothers; William “Billy” Moore of Alum Creek, and Robert “Bobby” Moore of Houston, Texas, and her loving 14 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June8, at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Roe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park So. Charleston. Family and  friends may gather from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Enolia Moore Rhodes

Enolia Moore Rhodes, 95, of St. Albans, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a long illness.

In 1932 she started teaching in Lincoln County, Washington District for seven years.  In 1942 she taught in the Kanawha County school system in the St. Albans area and remained there until she became principal of the Aetna Dale Elementary in the North Charleston area.  She later retired from Alban Elementary as principal in 1970.  She was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church, St. Albans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Rhodes in 1985; parents, Herbert and Ina Griffith Moore; brothers, Bernard, Clinton, Douglas, Everett and David Moore; sister, Leota Moore Dunlap; nephews, Rick, Jerry and Jeff Moore; special niece, Joy Pack.

She is survived by her brothers, Haskell Moore of Spring Hill, William W. Moore of St. Albans, and Gerald R. Moore of Alum Creek; sisters, Janice Moore Becher of South Charleston and Ethel Lee Pack of South Charleston; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Delores Martin and Stacey Ramella both of St. Albans.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Rev. Glenn Matthews officiating.  Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. There will not be a visitation.
