Lettie Irene Childress, 87, of South Charleston died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.

She was a member of The Trinity Baptist Church at Ruth.

She is survived by her cazegivers: Ralph & Judy Cales of South Charleston; 2 sons: Ebb & Thomas Childress both of Charleston; 2 Grandchildren; 1 Great granddaughter.

Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Eliza Emily Keeling, 86, of Sumerco, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 20, 2002, at Elkins Personal Care Home, Branchland, after a long illness.
She was a Christian and a member of the Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Sod.

She is survived by her: 2 Daughters: Marcella Hahn and Artie McCallister both of Sumerco; 2 Sons: Cecil Keeling, Jr. of Scottsmoor, Florida; Orville Keeling of Sumerco; 3 Sisters: Virgie McClure of Sumerco; Katherine McClure of Alum Creek; Laura Mae Calvert of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 17 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 2:00PM with Pastor Oshel Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Lively Cemetery at Sod.

Harold D. Gillispie

Harold D. Gillispie, 78, of Brounland, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Bennie Padilla Post 4768 Alum Creek.

He is survived by his: 3 Daughters and Son in law: Shirley and Grant Rhodes of Evans, WV; Chris Gillispie of St. Albans, WV; Kathy Gillispie of South Charleston, WV;
1 Son: Mark Gillispie at home; 3 Grandchildren: Matthew, Meghan and Corey; 2 Great Grandchildren: Brianna and Parker.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday Oct. 21, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will beheld in the Barker Cemetery, Ashford, with military graveside rites conducted by the Bennie Padilla Post 4768. Christine P. Pauley of Sod, WV died Friday October 18, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division following heart surgery.

Lenvil Priestley, 66 of Alum Creek, went home to be the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division after a battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Eva Priestley and son, Len Franklin Priestley.

He was a retired boiler maker from loca1667 and a member of Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his: Wife: Brenda Tulley Priestley; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Tammy and Daniel Campbell of Alum Creek; 2 Loving Granddaughters: Brittany and Kayla Campbell; 1 Sister: Jewel Williams of IN; 1 Brother: James Howard Priestley of Alum Creek;

2 Brothers: Carless Turley of South Charleston, WV; Lynn Turley Palm Bay, FL; 3 Sisters: Christinia Pell of St. Petersburg, FL; Sheryl Estep of Katy, TX; Sandra Fitzwater of South Charleston, WV; Special Friends: Alfred Newman, Eddie Childress, and Randy Shepherd all of South Chazleston, WV; 5 Grandchildren.

Curtis Callie Vickers, 87 of Sissonville, formerly of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at Cedar Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sissonville, after a long illness.

He was a member of the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church, a retired coal miner and a former employee of Sunbeam Bakery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helna Vickers, son, Edward Vickers, daughter, Sandra James, and grandson, Shawn Vickers.

He is survived by his: 3 Sons: John Allen Vickers of Winterhaven, FL; Harold Glen Vickers of South Charleston, WV; Walter Wayne Vickers of Bradenton, FL;
7 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will beheld in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was retired owner and operator of W. S. Lovejoy Drilling Co. of Alum Creek, was a member of the Griffithsville Masonic Lodge and was an Army veteran of W WII

She was a lifetime member of Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey and was retired from Columbia Gas where she had worked as an IBM Operator.
