Pamela K (McCallister) McMillion, 60, slipped the surly bonds of earth, peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. She lived with her son (Trenton McMillion) in Roseville, Michigan for several years as she waged her battle with cancer. She was welcomed into the arms of the Lord and reunited with loved ones and friends alike.

Pamela was born May 8th, 1965 to Billie and Virginia (Beach) McCallister in South Charleston (Tick Ridge), West Virginia.

Pamela is preceded in death by her parents: Billie and Virginia McCallister; grandparents: Elwood and Virgie Beach, Creed and Ruth McCallister; siblings: Benjamin (Ben) Franklin, Russell (Rusty) Lee, Paul George, and baby (Dusty) McCallister.

Pamela is survived by sisters: Belinda Gail Barker-Fox (Mark), Dreama Sue Lenn, and Sarah Darlene Golden (Joe); Sister-in-law Betty Jo McCallister (Ben). Her Children: Rachel McElroy (Alexander) and Trenton McMillion (Mary Rose). She was called Mimi by grandchildren: Claira Marie, Michael Alexander, and Emmett Daniel McElroy. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Pamela married Brenton McMillion on June 14, 1987. He won her over by his daring ability to hang off a multistory building to win a game of hide and seek. They spent their time together going on long motorcycle rides and adventuring through the woods. As they grew older, they worked together to flip 11 houses, resulting in the primary home in South Charleston where they raised their two children. They separated after their last child graduated high school.

In addition to being a loving mother, Pamela loved the Lord. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with everyone she met. She started her Christian journey attending Christian Faith Secondary Schools, where she loved to go to gospel sings with her mother and sisters. She believed in the power of prayer and the importance of living a life that’s reflected by her beliefs. Pamela’s legacy of strong Christian faith lives on through the many lives she touched and those she ministered to in time of need. Pamela took her profession and her Christian faith hand and hand; she lived a professional life of service graduating from West Virginia University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent her career as a Registered Nurse for 36 years ending as the Director of Nursing. Pamela enjoyed traveling with her children, grandchildren, and friends to one of her favorite places on earth, Walt Disney World. She also spent time as a travel nurse living in many different states and cities over the years, including Myrtle Beach, SC; San Antonio, TX; Olean, NY; Charlottesville, VA; and Ypsilanti, MI. Pamela was a prolific writer, reader, and baker, always loving to share her bread recipe with all her guests. Later in life, she developed a passion for genealogy; with a deep curiosity for where her family came from, this led her to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She loved exploring her family lineage back to England and was very proud that her family had been in West Virginia since the 1700’s. In her final days, Pamela loved spending time with her family, friends, and pets in the garden on beautiful sunny days.

Visitation will be held at Curry Funeral Home Monday, May 26, 2025, at 6:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 12:00PM. Sadye Jade Hill

April 30th, 2025 | Posted by curryfuneralhome in Obituaries - (3 Comments)

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we honor the life of Miss Sadye Jade Hill, 4 years young, of Alkol, who went to sit on Jesus’ lap Monday, April 28, 2025, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was a true warrior who fought every battle with fearless spirit and a radiant smile. She was a shining light, a fierce soul and a gift to all who knew her. Miss Sadye Jade’s world was filled with love, adventure, boundless imagination, laughter, and the love of family and friends.

Miss Sadye Jade was a true superhero. Not the kind with capes, but the kind who carries Care Bears, fights battles with a smile, and leaves a mark on every soul she meets. She was an incredible little girl who lived life to the fullest. She could stand toe to toe with anyone, unafraid to speak her mind or throw a punch if needed. A feral Princess. She fought every battle with unwavering determination, inspiring everyone around her.

Her bond with Dill Dill was unbreakable and their love for each other deep and undeniable. She was always with Saw Saw, the two inseparable in laughter and adventure. She adored Care Bears, Paw Patrol, PJ Mask, Spidey and Friends, Safety Sheriff Labrador, and The Little Mermaid. She loved playing kitchen, play doh, riding 4 wheelers, jeeps, playing outside, building with blocks, coloring, YouTube, block games, and spending time at the ocean. Whether she was in a Jeep Cherokee with Dill Dill, Jakey, and Saw Saw or a side-by-side with Uncle Josh and Aunt Jessica, she embraced life’s adventures with open arms.

She loved putting makeup on MiMi Jo and playing doctor with Bray Bray, where she took charge like a real nurse, creating magic in every moment. Her signature bow and necklace were always on her, unless she was with Dill Dill, in which case she happily traded her bow for his hat.

Her treasured Care Bears, Little Dill Dill, Care Bear, Baby, Grandpa were more than just her toys, they were her comfort through every challenge. Standing by her side through surgeries, bone marrow transplants, proton therapies, chemo cycles, vacation, and everyday life and continue to be. Each bear held a story, a gift of love that helped her through the toughest times. She would tell everyone who asked about each bear. Little Dill Dill was brought by Dill Dill when she first got sick. MiMi Jo brought Care Bear for her 1st birthday and Baby and Grandpa, mommy got. Grandpa stayed in trouble. He spent many days in time out or left in a car due to his attitude.

She loved fighting with Dill Dill, Jakey, and Saw Saw. She could get Jakey chasing her down the hallway for beating on his door. He would rev bomb his jeep every time she was outside because that’s what she wanted. MiMi Jo would go and sit days in Cincinnati because that’s what Sadye wanted. The big kids is what she called them, and she tried to be like each one of them. They each, in their own way, played a big part in who Miss Sadye Jade was. She was proud of each of her siblings. She would tell all her nurses and doctors about each of them. She loved her baby Knoxy.

Miss Sadye Jade wanted to be a firefighter but would’ve made a great oncology nurse. She knew every step.

She loved to travel and was always finding places on YouTube to go. She always said the ocean made her feel better. She loved The Hairbow Company, always telling everyone where she got her clothes. She might’ve dressed like a girly girl, but loved working in the garage and Jeeps, playing in the mud with the boys.

Miss Sadye Jade loved going to church with Missy, Demi, Parker, Cash, and Alivia. She loved riding motorbike with Rusty and asking why at everything he said. She loved her Emilee for being a 4-year-old and dancing in the rain. She loved when Maw Maw came down and played kitchen. Miss Sadye Jade could cook up some amazing meals in her kitchen. She carried bags of toys around everywhere she went. She loved her bottle “balbal” full of milk and lemonade, Sams Club cheese pizza, where she made friends with the employees, happy meals and Starbucks-the Daddy drink.

Miss Sadye Jade’s bucket list reflected her big dreams. She met Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, went to Disney, loved shooting Minions at Universal, playing with dolphins, eating with princesses, and playing in the sand every chance she got. Her imagination was unmatched. She could turn a hospital crib into a boat, a kitchen, a tent, a plane flying, or a ship soaring across the sea. She played hide and seek in the back seat of a car always on the go, always full of life.

Miss Sadye Jade fought battles that most could never imagine, always with a smile on her face. True superheroes are little kids that fight the biggest battles. You don’t know how strong a child is until they fight the devil.

Miss Sadye Jade loved her oncologists Johnathan Bender and Kristie Ramos. They weren’t just her doctors, they were her friends, and she loved them. She told everyone about Dr. Bender and Dr. Kristie. Special thanks to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Oncology unit, inpatient and outpatient, Proton Therapy Center. Her oncologists, Johnathan Bender and Kristie Ramos, and the rest of her team as well as the PICU for helping us with the hardest days of our lives. Miss Jenna, Miss Jamie, and Tammy Clay for all they did, as well as Comfort Inns and Suite in Wilder, KY. Thanks for everything you’ve did during all her stays and especially during this one.

Though her time with us was far too short, her love, laughter and unbreakable spirit will remain forever in our hearts. She was deeply loved, fiercely cherished, and will be missed beyond measure, but her light will never fade, and her story will live on in every life she touched. Rest easy sweet Miss Sadye Jade, you fought with everything you had and now you are free.

Miss Sadye Jade was preceded in death by her granddads, David “Bear” Weddington and Terry Hill; great grandmothers, Orpha Doyle, Nora Saul, and Cledith Hill; great uncle, Larry Weddington; great great aunt, Nona Thompson.

She is survived by her parents, Brad and Rebekah Hill; siblings, Braylea, MacyJo, Dylan, Jaycob, and Sawyer Bear; maternal grandmother, Norma Weddington; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Hill; nephew, Knox Hill; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other family and friends who dearly loved Sadye. She is also survived by special uncle and aunt, Josh and Jessica Weddington and special cousins, Rusty and Missy Weddington, Emilee Hughes, and Anna Fowler.

Service will be 2:00pm, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Ben Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Stone Cemetery, Alkol. Friends and family will gather 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Please wear colorful clothing. Sadye Jade is now a rainbow.
