He was an Army veteran.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, September 24, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Frank Chapman and Rev. Earl Cochran officiating. Burial will be held in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, September 23, 2000 from 710 9 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home.

Crete Ferrell, 86 of Huntington, died Thursday, September 14, 2000 at Morris Memorial Nursing Home, Milton after a long illness.

She was a cook for Lincoln County Board of Education, a member of the Porter Fork Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Dermis Ferrell.

She is survived by her: 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Dorsey and Barbara Ferrell of Huntington, W V; 2 Brothers: Bernard Meadows of Alkol, WV; Charles Meadows of Alkol, W V; 1 Sister: Jackie Stowers of Alkol, WV; 3 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, September 17, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Saturday, September 16, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

He was a retired coal miner of Southern Appalachian Coal Company, Bull Creek Operations, and a member of the UMWA Local Charleston.

Kathey Sue Linville, 42, of Yawkey, departed this life on Wednesday, August 23, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital due to complications associated with diabetes.

She was a CNA employed by Gentiva Health Services for the past 10 years where she touched many lives throughout the Kanawha Valley and surrounding areas by her tender loving care. She was a 1976 graduate of Duval High school. She formerly attended Merritts Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
