Mabel P. McCormick, 87 of South Charleston, died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness.

She was a life long resident of Kanawha and Lincoln County, a graduate and benefactor of Alderson Broaddus College, a school teacher in Lincoln and Kanawha County for 37 years and a member of the Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgel McCormick.

She is survived by her special niece, Phyllis A. Danforth of Springfield, MO; four half brothers, Arthur H. Dunlap of Crab Orchard, W V; Ohley R. Dunlap of South Charleston, W V; Carl R. Dunlap of St. Albans, WV; Jackie L. Dunlap of St. Albans, WV; four half sisters, Betty Holland of Charleston, WV; Jonnie Green of Bridgeport, WV; Margaret Weaver of Hilton Head Is1and,SC; Mary Lou Oliver of Hilton Head Island, SC; 2step-brothers, Wilbur Carlos Dunlap of Mesa, AZ; and Lowell Dunlap of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bruce Blankenship and Pastor David Cyphers officiating. Entombment will be held at Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
