Lyida Mae Baldwin, 78 of Randleman, North Carolina, formerly of Blair, West Virginia, died Thursday, July 27, 2000 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro, North Carolina after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.

She is survived by her: 4 Sons: Sheldon Eugene Baldwin of Randleman, NC; Dallas R. Baldwin of Boiling Springs, NC; Larry A. Baldwin ofFranlinville, NC; Roger D. Baldwin of Powell Creek, WV; 3 Daughters: Geraldine Frye of Detroit, MI; Barbara Horton of Flint, MI; Carolyn Mitchell, Sod, WV; 28 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held July 30, 2000 at 2:00 PM at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Rev. Ronald Blake officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Saturday, July 29, 2000 at the funeral home.

Ina F. Dunlap, 87 of McCorkle, died Thursday, July 27, 2000 in Thomas Memorial Hospital South Charleston after a long illness.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her: 2 Daughters: Bonnie Fitzwater of Scott Depot, WV; Carol Sue Wheeler of McCorkle, WV; 1 Sister: Gladys Lovejoy of Garretts Bend, WV; 1 Brother: Cal Dunlap of Tornado, WV; 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek on Saturday, July 29, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Oshel Bell officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at McCorkle. Friends may call on Friday, July 28, 2000 from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Kenneth Alfred Metten

Kenneth Alfred Metten, 75, of South Charleston died Saturday, July 22, 2000 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Greenview Road, South Charleston.

He was an employee of Kanawha County Schools for the past 12 years, was a W WII Navy veteran, received a purple heart in the Pacific Theater, and was a member of the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. He was formerly employed at NASA for Bendix Corp. in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his: 3 Sons: Robert Metten of Jupiter, FL; William F. Metten of South Charleston, WV; Andrew Metten of South Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: William E. Metten of South Charleston, WV; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, on Thursday, July 27, 2000 with military graveside rites given by the Alum Creek VFW post #4768. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 26, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.

Martha Ermal Chapman

Martha Ermal Chapman, 88 of Hamlin, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at Lincoln Continuous Care Facility after a long illness.

She was a retired chef and restaurant manager in Cleveland, Ohio and Hamlin, was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Hamlin and the Hamlin Women’s Club.

She is survived by her: 2 Nieces: Sue Shaw of Panama City, FL; Sally Cooper of Ft. Myers, FL; Lots of friends in Hamlin.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hamlin on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Hamlin Women’s Club.

Virginia Haynes

She is survived by her personal caregiver, Mable Loftis.

Mary “Wavie” McCallister, 88, of Sod died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at home after a long illness.

She was a homemaker, a member ofMcCorkle Free Will Baptist Church and a life long resident of Lincoln county.

She is survived by her: 2 Daughters: Frances K. McCallister of Sod, WV; Brenda Joyce Holloway of Euless, TX; 1 Granddaughter: Chrissy Carder of Grapevine, TX; 2 Great Grandsons: Cory James Liberto; Hunter Carder; 4 Step Grandchildren; 1 Step Great Grandson.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, 25, 2000 at 2:30PM with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston. Friends may ca112 hours prior to service at the funeral home.

Donald K. “Reb” Vickers, 56 of Trooper, PA formerly of Alkol, W V Died Tuesday June 20, 2000 at his home after a long illness.

He was a warehouseman for Flemming Foods Inc., in Oaks, PA for 32 years, Graduate of Duval High Class of 1962, He served as a coach, manager, and announcer for the Eagleville Little League The Eagleville, PA Ballfield was named in his honor and is now the Vickers Field. He also served as a volunteer for the Plymouth Ambulance Service and is known as Ridgerunner by fellow C.B Operators. He was a Vietnam War Vet. Where he served as a medical corpsman in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen &Arnie Vickers.

Surv. By his Wife: Gail; 2 sons: Donald Weaver of Brick , NJ & Charles Pool of Eagleville, PA; 4 Daughters: Dawn Weaver and Christina Weaver both of Brick, NJ; Tamy Vickers of Parkerford, PA; Jacqueline Becker of North Wales, PA; 2 Brothers: Denver Vickers of Alkol and Earl Gay Vickers of Myrtle Beach, SC; 1 Sister: Opal Clarkof Alkol; 13 Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 8 PM Thursday at the Szpindor Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave., Trooper PA with Rev Ernest E. Mascho Officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 24 in the Vickers Family Cemetery at Alkol, WV with military graveside rites by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. Curry Funeral Home at Alum Creek is in charge of local arrangements.

Jerry Lee Dunlap

Jerry Lee Dunlap, 62 of Alum Creek, died Sunday, June 18, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after an apparent heart attack.

He was a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his: Wife: Linda; 2 Sons: Jay Dunlap of Sod, WV; Chris Dunlap of Sod, W V; 2 Sisters: Lorraine Hornsby of Sod, W V; Janet Scites of Hurricane, WV; 1 Brother: John Dunlap of Sod, WV; 2 Grandsons: Weston Dunlap of Sod, WV; Dylan Dunlap of Sod, WV;

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ross Dunlap and Damon Dunlap both of Sod.
