Debbie L. Smith, 51 of Yawkey, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at home after a long illness.

She was a flower designer and manager of Village Floral, Spring Hill, a member of Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey, a life long resident of Lincoln County and a graduate of Duval High School, Griffthsville.

She is survived by her: Husband: Jimmie Smith; 1 Son: Jamie Smith of Middlebourne, WV; Mother: Pauline Oxley of Yawkey, WV; 1 Sister: Dottie Lowery of West Palm Beach, FL.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chester Bird, Pastor Gary Hall and Pastor Butch Loftis officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Friday, February 9, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Leonard E. Gillespie, 45 of Ashford, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at CAMC Memorial Emergency Room after a long illness.

He was a disabled coal miner and he attended the Mahone Chapel at Rumble.

He is survived by his: Special Companion: Laura Wilson of Ashford; Mother: Evelyn Price Gillespie of Emmons, WV; 1 Brother: Virgil Gillespie of Emmons, WV.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Thursday, February 8, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. F. A. Giles officiating. Burial will be held in Gillespie Cemetery, Emmons. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

He was a retired painter and member of the Painters Union Local # 970. He was a former coal miner, a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ and was an avid hunter.

He was a former employee of Union Carbide, Owens Market and Charleston Foundry. He served with CC Camps during WWII.

Memorial service will be held at Elk River Church of the Nazarene Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Glen Thaxton officiating. Burial will be in Gunno Cemetery, Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements..
