Alvin D. Waldron, 62 of Alum Creek, died Friday, January 12, 2001 at Valley Health Village, South Charleston after a long illness.

He was a retired carpenter and member of Carpenters Union Local 1207, Charleston.

He is survived by his: Wife: Betty; Son: Alan Waldron of Alum Creek, WV; 2 Daughters: April Waldron of Alum Creek, WV; Crystal Ashworth of Milton, WV; Sister: Deloris Jean Turley of Sod, WV; 3 Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. There will be no visitation. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements.

She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Kanawha county.

She is survived by her: 1 Daughter: Cheryl Hawk of Brounland, WV; 2 Sons: Freddie Creech of Alum Creek, WV; Terry Creech of St. Albans, WV; 1 Sister: Norma Ballard of Charleston, WV; 5 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will be held in Childress Cemetery, South Charleston. Friends may call on Monday, January 8, 2001 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

John Jefferson Bowles, 59 of South Charleston, died Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at Riverside Nursing Home, St. Albans, after a long illness.
He was a construction worker, member of the Laborers Union, member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church, and was a Vietnam War Army Veteran.

He is survived by his: 1 Son: John Bowles, Jr. of Sandyville, WV; 1 Daughter: Amy Thomas of Leroy, WV; Mother: Opal Bowles of South Charleston, WV; 1 Sister: Connie Pauley of South Charleston, WV.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Friday, January 5, 2001 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Friday, January 5, 2001 from 12:30 – 2:30 PM, 2 hours prior to the service.

He was a retired farmer.

Services will be held at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, St. Albans, on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Dr. John Hoskins officiating. Burial will beheld in Shepherd Cemetery, St. Albans. She was a retired Postmaster at the Yawkey Post Office, a member of the Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey, and she sang with the McMellon Family Quartet.

She is survived by her: 1 Son: Darrell McMellon of Yawkey, WV; 1 Granddaughter and Caregiver: Dawna Allen of Yawkey, WV; 2 Great Grandsons: Michael and Joshua.
