Audrey Lee Moore, 67 of Charleston, died Monday, August 14, 2000 at home after a long illness.

She was a retired employee from Shawnee Hills and she attended the Assembly of God in Chesapeake.

She is survived by her: Husband: Bill Jack Moore; 4 Sons: Timmy Akers of Parkersburg, WV; Frank Akers of Tornado, WV; Rusty D. Akers of Smith Creek, WV; Jimmie G. Moore of Charleston, WV; 1 Daughter: Joni Copen of Quick, WV; 3 Brothers: Kenneth Sampson of Charleston, WV; Tommy Sampson of Nashville, TN; Roy Sampson of Beckley, WV; 3 Sisters: Hazel Ball of South Charleston, WV; Gladys Clendenin of Melbourne, FL; Opal Sayre of St. Alban, WV; 8 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildre.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Thursday, August 17, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Pete Payne officiating. Burial will be held in the family cemetery at Island Creek, Tornado. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 16, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sumerco Church of God.

Services will be held at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Richard McCallister officiating. Burial will be held in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 16, 2000 one hour prior to the service.

He was a graduate of Duval High School, Griffithsville and a life long resident of Lincoln County.

Virginia Yeager, 73 of Sod, died Friday, August 4, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, after along illness.

She was a homemaker, a member of the McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church, and a life long resident of Lincoln county. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Yeager.

She is survived by her:2 Sons: Darrell Yeager of OH; Jerry Yeager of OH;1 Sister: Fay Pauley of Sod, WV;Caregiver: JoAnna Thomas of Sod, WV.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, August 7, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roe Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, McCorkle. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arthur “Archie” McCormick, 74 of Sumerco, died Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

He was retired from F.M.C., South Charleston, with 31 years of service, was a member of the Sumerco Church of God, and was a life long resident of Lincoln county.

Kenneth Alfred Metten

Kenneth Alfred Metten, 75, of South Charleston died Saturday, July 22, 2000 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Greenview Road, South Charleston.

He was an employee of Kanawha County Schools for the past 12 years, was a W WII Navy veteran, received a purple heart in the Pacific Theater, and was a member of the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. He was formerly employed at NASA for Bendix Corp. in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his: 3 Sons: Robert Metten of Jupiter, FL; William F. Metten of South Charleston, WV; Andrew Metten of South Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: William E. Metten of South Charleston, WV; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, on Thursday, July 27, 2000 with military graveside rites given by the Alum Creek VFW post #4768. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 26, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.
