londis-justice-photoLondis K.  Justice, 69, of Griffithsville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at CAMC-Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by wife,  Jana; daughter, Deborah  Justice; grandson, Crae Justice; and parents; Gilbert and Macel Justice; siblings; Boyd, Ernie Ray, Vada Pauley, and Margie McCallister.

He was owner and operator of J & L Clearing and Sunset Construction.  He was pastor and founder of Wings of Deliverance Tabernacle now known as Praise Assembly of God.  Londis traveled as an evangelist in the U.S. and as far away as Africa.

He is survived by his children, Donna (David) Dunlap, Allen (Shawn) Justice, and Ricky (Tonya) Justice; and  grandchildren, Dustin (Jeanie) Dunlap, Brandon (Kacey) Justice, Deona Dunlap, NaTasha Justice, Chelsea (Travis) Gibson, Taylor (Corey) Laney, Joshua Justice; and Kirstan Justice; and great-grandchildren, Craelyn Dunlap, Carlee & Tanner Gillispie, Colton Justice, Kaden & Koen Gibson, Joel & Logan Justice, Paylin Roberts, Chad & Kelsie Hill; and brothers; Okey Justice and Kessil (Shirley) Justice; sisters; Mabel Woodrum and Tina Pauley;

Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Dan McCormick and Reverend  Jim Oxendine officiating.  Burial will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the funeral home.

Danny Breedlove

danny-breedlove-photoDanny K. Breedlove, 66, of Alkol, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

He was a retired Coal Miner and member of the UMWA Local 781 where he currently served as President.  He was also a member of the Griffithsville Masonic Lodge #71 and the 32nd Scottish Rite.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Brookie Breedlove;  brother, Leo;  son-in-law, Randy Gray; and father-in-law, Ernest Tudor.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy; children, Paul (Amy) Breedlove and Kim Gray; grandchildren, Katy Cunningham, Ashley (Chris) Perry, Tess (Kyle) Mangold, Josh Breedlove, Jacob and Makayla Gray; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Breedlove; siblings, Judy (Ed) Watson, Kathy (Jerry) Skeenes, Willie (Mallie) Breedlove, Joyce (Jerry) Midkiff and Russell (Teresa) Breedlove; and mother-in-law, Delphia Tudor.

Service will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Butch Brogan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial with Masonic Graveside Rites will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, at the Orchard Hills Memory Gardens in Yawkey.

Rosery “Sue” Kingrey

sue-kingrey-photoRosery “Sue” Kingrey, 72, of Alum Creek went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 16, 2016 after a short illness.

She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church where she was a former pianist, and also attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Sue was well known for her abilities as a seamstress, making crafts, gardening, especially cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly and Athalene Tackett and brother, Ted Tackett.

Sue is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mike; sons, Scott and Todd (Cher) Kingrey; grandchildren, Jamie and Elizabeth Kingrey; sister, Judy (Tommy) Quintrell; nieces, Teresa Breedlove, Pam Dunlap, Melinda Ray and Kristin Kingrey; nephews, Jimmy Marker and Little Teddy Tackett;  brother-in-law and sister-in- law,  Philip Dreama Kingrey; and numerous friends & extended family members.

Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Dwight McClure and Minister Teddy Tackett officiating.  Burial will follow at Mays Cemetery, Yawkey.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Bastin, Dr. Hamrick and Dr. Stanton for their wonderful care.

Margie Dean

margie-deanMargie Dean, 68, of South Charleston, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Hospital following complications with the heart and kidneys.

Born July 24, 1948, the daughter of Reba and Russell James Roberts, she was the oldest of four girls.  Margie enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends and her pet Macaw named Rambo.  One of her favorite hobbies was knitting.  Margie had a kind and compassionate heart, always wanting everyone to be happy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Cecil Dean; children, Tammy Harmon, Russell (Heather) Harmon, Tommy Harmon and Kim Harmon; many grandchildren, one great granddaughter and sisters, Joan (Gail) Runyon, Anita Roberts and Kay (Fred) Pauley.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Bert Hall officiating.  Entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Timothy Mark Graley

Timothy Mark Graley, 48, of Huntington passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016.

He is survived by his son, Marcus Derrick Graley (Ashley Wilcox) of St. Albans and mother, Sharon Graley.

Noel “Butch” Midkiff

butch-midkiffNoel “Butch” Midkiff, 70, of Shreveport, LA, formerly of Alum Creek, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents: Walter & Polly Midkiff; sisters: Beverly and Madge Midkiff, Sharon Bailey and Barbara Dowd.

He graduated from Washington District High School – Class of 1963.

He is survived by daughters, Anita Midkiff Adkins of St. Albans, Donna Midkiff Allen of Charleston, and Candice Midkiff of Shreveport, LA; sister, Nadine Snodgrass of Pleasant Grove, AL, and brother Albert (JoAnn) Midkiff of Yawkey, WV, grandchildren, Haley & Kristin Adkins and Samuel & Hannah Linton.

Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Tommy Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow at Midkiff Family Cemetery, Alum Creek.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions toward the funeral service.

 

Narciza H. Cooper

narzica-cooper-photoNarciza H. Cooper, 79, of Griffithsville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice West, South Charleston after a long illness.

She was born in Panama City, Panama.  She was a long time Christian, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her infant son and her parents Juan and Geneva Hernandez.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bernard; children, Lynda (Kenny) Lawrence, Alan (Rita) Cooper, Bruce (Linda) Cooper, Ritchie (Shelly) Cooper and Elizabeth Turner; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as her long time caregiver Tiffany Scarberry.

A private family gathering was held at Sumerco Church of God.  The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Hospice West and others who cared for her along the way.

Barbara J. Tiffner

She was a woman of faith, a long time Christian, a loving mother and grandmother.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Roma and Ruby Harless; sister, Geneva Stowers; and an infant brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Mike) Tiffner-Renick; son, Michael (Tina) Tiffner; sisters, Patty Smith, Linda Roberts, Dena Harless, Jewell Hudson, Laura and Rhonda Morris; six grandchildren, Victoria (Tony), Jonathan, Patrick, Heather (Scott), Samantha (David), and Kelly (Ian); and 14 great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Audra K. Caruthers

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior;  son, Ronald Caruthers; sisters, Gearldine and Jenny; and brothers, Eugene and Pete.

Audra was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue (Mark) Holsinger, Mary Caruthers and Sharon (Wayne) Midkiff; sons, Paul Smith, David (Connie) Caruthers and Henry (Betty) Caruthers; sisters, Beulah Lewis, Ruth Ann Minner and  Corrine Hall; brother, Andy Rowley; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow at Forks of Coal Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Florence Mosteller

She was preceded in death by her children: Terry, Kitty and Randy and their father, Bill and her parents, Lee & Viola Mosteller.

She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

She is survived by brothers, Arthur and Roger; grandchildren: T.W. (Krystal), Brandon (Veronica) Autumn (Jordan), Jessica(Toney) and Tausha(Mike); 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 7, 2016 at Curry Funeral Home.  Pastors Richard McCallister and Jeff Mosteller will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Mosteller-Yoder Cemetery, Tornado.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
